Wix Video: Adding a YouTube Feed

Add a YouTube feed as a channel in your site's Wix Video widget. For example, if you are a personal trainer, you can display a series of fitness videos to motivate your audience.

Once a YouTube feed is connected, each new video you add from the linked YouTube channel or playlist automatically syncs to the widget.

Note:

YouTube videos set to private are not supported and may not display properly in Wix Video. Make sure the videos you want to add are set to "public".

Step 1 | Find your channel or playlist URL on YouTube

Go to YouTube and locate the channel or playlist you want to add to your site. Then, copy the playlist URL. You can choose any public YouTube playlist, as long as the videos are not set to private.

To find your playlist URL on YouTube:

1. Go to YouTube.com and access the relevant YouTube profile.

2. Choose what you want to do:

Copy the playlist URL from your browser's web address bar at the top.

1. Click the Playlists tab.

2. Click View full playlist under the relevant playlist.
   

3. Copy the playlist URL from your browser's web address bar at the top.
   Note: Make sure to copy the full playlist URL not an individual video URL.
   

Step 2 | Add a YouTube feed to Wix Video

Once you've copied your playlist URL, add a YouTube feed to your site from the Channels tab. Site visitors can then view the videos through the Wix Video widget.

To add a YouTube feed:

1. Go to Video Library in your site's dashboard.

2. Click the Channels tab in the side panel on the left.

3. Hover over the New Channel drop-down at the top right and select YouTube Feed.

1. Paste your YouTube channel or playlist URL in the field.

2. Click Connect.

Note:

It may take several hours for your embedded YouTube channel or playlist on Wix to sync with the latest uploads from the YouTube channel.

Why can't I see the videos from the YouTube feed in my video library?

Adding a YouTube feed does not add the videos to your library, it only allows your site visitors to view your YouTube videos through the widget on your site.

Can I make my YouTube feed my default Wix Video channel?

The YouTube feed cannot be your default channel.

How long does it take to sync my YouTube updates?

It may take several hours for your embedded YouTube feed to sync with the latest uploads on your YouTube channel.

Can I add private videos from YouTube?

Private videos are not supported so may not display correctly (e.g. missing cover images, appearing as broken links, no ability to playback). Learn more about troubleshooting external videos in Wix Video.

Can I customize my YouTube feed from the Wix Video widget?

You cannot add categories to the feed or allow visitors to search through the channel. To customize videos in the feed you need to make the changes in YouTube.

Why can't I see views on YouTube for the videos on my Wix Video widget feed?

Views for embedded videos to your site may not register on that video's native platform. For example, someone viewing a YouTube video on your Wix feed may not show up as a view in your YouTube stats.
