  • Google Ads with Wix: Troubleshooting Campaign Issues | Wix Expert

< Back Promoting your site Running campaigns and paid ads Google Ads with Wix: Troubleshooting Campaign Issues Was your Google Ads with Wix campaign disapproved after you sent it to Google for review? Or does something look wrong after it went live? You can usually identify the issue from the message in your dashboard or from how the ad appears on Google. Check the relevant section below to find a solution for the issue you're seeing. Preventing campaign disapproval If Google disapproves your campaign or you want to reduce the chances of disapproval, check the relevant section below. Troubleshooting disapproved campaigns After creating campaign content including headlines, descriptions and keywords, you send your campaign to Google for review. If Google finds issues with your campaign, your campaign is marked as disapproved. A 'Disapproved' label and the reason for the disapproval then appears next to your campaign in your Google Ads dashboard. Once you fix the issue, you can resubmit your campaign for review. Click an issue to learn what it means and how to fix it. Content not compliant with Google Ads policies Google doesn't allow ads for the following items: Counterfeit goods Dangerous or derogatory content Adult content Explosives and weapons Tobacco and recreational drugs Misleading and deceptive practices If your Google Ads with Wix campaign was disapproved, make sure you are following Google Ads policies . Trademarks Your campaign may be disapproved because it's in violation of trademarks. Google abides by local trademark laws and requires that all Google Ads campaigns don't infringe on third-party trademarks . The policies apply to text ads appearing on Google Search and are enforced when a trademark owner submits a valid complaint. Punctuation, capitalization, symbols Punctuation and symbols The following is not allowed: Punctuation or symbols that aren't used correctly or for their intended purpose (e.g. exclamation marks in the ad headline, repeated punctuation not used for its true meaning). Invalid or unsupported characters (e.g. Emojis). Capitalization The following is not allowed: Capitalization that's not used correctly or for its intended purpose (e.g. Excessive use of capitalization, such as FLOWERS). Style and spelling The following is not allowed: Ads or assets that don't use commonly accepted spelling or grammar. Ads or assets that are incomprehensible or don't make sense. Ads or assets that exceed character limits for double-width character languages. Ads or assets that are inconsistent with the clear and informational presentation style of the Google Search results. Destination mismatch Destination mismatch are ads that don't accurately reflect where the user is being directed, such as: A domain or domain asset in the display URL that doesn't match the final URL or mobile URL. Failing to use a subdomain to clearly identify a site from all other sites hosted on that domain. Redirects from the final URL that takes someone to a different domain. Tracking templates that don't lead to the same content as the final URL. Learn more about destination mismatch in Google Ads policies . Troubleshooting destination mismatch: Review your URLs: The website or app in your ad (display URL) needs to accurately show which website or app people will be taken to when clicking your ad. This policy also applies to: Keyword URLs Tracking Tracking templates Proxy display URLs Edit your URLs so they comply with the policies. Destination not working These are destinations that don't function properly or have been incorrectly set up, such as: A site that returns an HTTP client or server error code. A site that returns an authentication error. A site that doesn't work on common browsers and devices. Check your destination URL to ensure it's working and update the working URL as needed (try the troubleshooting steps below). If your main domain is not working, check with your domain provider and resolve any issues with the domain first. Troubleshooting destination not working: If you've received this error, try the following: Check the URL you've entered. Fix the ad's destination. Submit your campaign for review. Learn more about how to troubleshoot destination not working . 'Your Site is Unavailable' If you receive the error 'Your Site is Unavailable', there may be an issue with your domain connection. Check your domain connection with the Wix Domain Assistant to ensure your domain is properly connected to Wix. Malicious software If you receive a message about potential malicious software: Follow the steps in this article to verify your site with Google Search Console . Go back to your ad campaign and edit it. Send your campaign for review again. Circumventing systems If you receive this error message, Google Ads has suspended your account for violating the Circumventing Systems policy . If your ad is suspended for 'Circumventing systems': Google uses automated systems to suspend accounts they believe violate its Unacceptable Business Practices or Circumventing Systems policies. Google doesn't disclose to Wix which specific site elements or setups triggered the suspension. Note: Wix can't appeal the suspension on your behalf or override Google's determination, because these decisions are made entirely by Google. Healthcare & medicines Google allows pharmaceutical manufacturers to advertise in select countries only. Learn more about Google's healthcare & medicine ad policy . Inappropriate content If you receive this error message, Google Ads has suspended your account for violating its Inappropriate Content Policy . Restricted drug terms If you receive this error message, you could be using restricted keywords in your advertising, website, and content. Campaigns are usually disapproved that contain any terms from this non-exhaustive list of prescription drugs or active ingredients monitored by Google Ads policy. The most common include 'botox' and 'hyaluronic acid.' Note: Google allows keywords containing prescription drug terms only in select countries. Learn more about restricted drug terms . Note: Some ads may be disapproved because Google must approve them via an authorization form. Wix can't submit certain forms to Google on behalf of users. Tips to prevent ad campaign disapproval Before you submit a campaign for review, make sure: Your ad content and landing pages comply with Google Ads policies . Your headlines and descriptions follow Google’s Editorial Requirements . Your destination URL works properly and matches the URL shown in the ad. Learn more about Google’s Destination Requirements . Your domain is connected and accessible. If your domain is experiencing connectivity issues, try our Wix Domain Assistant . Troubleshooting live campaign issues If you're experiencing issues or have questions about your live ad campaign, see our solutions below. Note: It can take around 14 days for a Google Ads campaign to fully optimize. Avoid making any changes to your campaign for at least 14 days to allow the campaign to make adjustments and perform. Click an issue below to find out how to resolve it. I can't see my live ad If you can't see your live ad, it could be for the following reasons: You're searching for your own ad on Google: If you repeatedly search for your own ad using Google Search but don't click on it, you may stop seeing the ad. Google's system can detect the IP address of your computer and stops showing you ads it thinks you aren't interested in. You've reached your average daily budget: Google Ads displays your ads as often as possible while staying within your average daily budget. When your daily budget is reached, your ads typically stop showing for that day. Your ad's delivery settings: Your ad's delivery settings determine the average pace that your ads are shown on a given day. If you've set your campaign to standard delivery and you have a lower budget, your ad won't show up in every Google Search in order to achieve a steady delivery throughout the day. Also, if you've set your campaign to an accelerated delivery and look for the ad too late in the day, you may not see it. My ad text appears differently when it shows up on Google When you create ad text, Google tests combinations of headlines and descriptions in any order to optimize your ad. To help attract more customers, Google can also pull content from your site page's SEO settings and business information and use it to test alternate ads. This content can include your business name, address, or your page's title tag or meta description. Learn more about how Google chooses ad text for campaigns . Make sure you've updated your page's SEO settings such as the URL slug, title tag and meta description with the most up-to-date content in case Google uses it to test additional ads. To update your page's SEO settings: Click Pages & Menu on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon next to the relevant site page. Click SEO Basics . Make any changes to your page's URL slug, title tag and meta description. Learn more about writing title tags and meta descriptions for your page . Note : The changes save automatically. The URL below my ad text links to a site page I don't want to show In order to increase the performance of your ads, Google looks for pages on your site that may be of interest to potential customers (e.g. promotions, coupons, testimonials). Google can then generate an automatic site link, or the URL that appears below your ad text, using any of your published site pages. Learn more about automatic site links . If you don't want Google to display a specific site page below your ad, you need to hide that page from search engines in the page's SEO settings. To hide a site page from search engines: Click Pages & Menu on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon next to the relevant site page. Click SEO Basics . Scroll down and disable the Let search engines index this page toggle to hide this page from Google Search. Why doesn't my live ad show a 'Call' button? A 'call' button may not be shown in every impression of your ad. Similar to other ad assets, Google runs an algorithm to determine whether or not to show the call button in combination with other assets (e.g. image) next to it. This is based on historical performance of the assets and other factors Google tracks and decides on. Google tests different variations of your ad, and it's normal for a subset of the total ad impressions to appear without all assets included (e.g. the call button). Learn more about bid adjustments . Why is my average daily budget higher or lower than what I set? At the top of the main campaigns page, you might see that your advertising costs each day are a little higher or lower than what you set for your average daily budget. If you do, don’t worry: over the month-long billing cycle, you won’t be charged more than your average daily budget would’ve allowed for over 30.4 days. It's calculated as 30.4 because that is the average number of days in a month (365 days in a year / 12 months = 30.417). Google multiplies your average daily budget by this number. That's how we know what your budget should be over the course of a month. Learn more about managing your budget and monthly subscription . Why is my campaign spending more than my daily allocated budget? Google allows up to 2 times the clicks in a day than your average daily budget allows for campaigns that aren’t paying for conversions. This is called overdelivery. And it’s a good thing: if Google ends up showing your ad too much — to the point where you accrue more costs than your average daily budget allows over a billing cycle — then Google gives you credit for those extra costs. Example: Let’s say you set your budget at $5 a day and your billing cycle is 30 days. Over the course of the month, you notice that your charges vary. Some days you’re charged $2 and on others you’re charged $10. At the end of the month, your charges won’t exceed $152 (that’s 30.4 multiplied by your $5 budget, as explained above). Even though your campaign costs varied (tipping above and falling below your $5 budget from day to day), at the end of the month you'll still be charged for the amount you budgeted. Why does Wix Analytics show my ad appearing outside my targeted locations? Your ad is shown strictly in campaign targeted locations. If you see ad clicks from outside your targeted locations, it could be due to the following: The link in your ad was shared. A discrepancy between Wix Analytics reports and Google. Google and Wix Analytics attribute user location differently. Google has more data on your audience, so it's able to show more accurate location data. Wondering where your live ad appears? Your campaign can appear in Google search, YouTube or a Google partner website (AKA Google Display Network). Note: Showing ads on Google partner websites is helpful because it puts your ads in front of people before they start searching for what you offer. Reach potential customers while they are doing unrelated activities online (e.g. browsing their favorite websites, showing a friend a video, or using apps on mobile devices). This can be key to your overall advertising strategy. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that! Previous Next Need An AI Run Website? • Wix Legends: About Credits | Wix Expert

< Back Managing your business Wix Legends Wix Legends: About Credits Credits give you a set amount of call time with your Legend each month. Visitors use your credits when they talk to your Legend on a video or voice call, and you use credits when you create an additional custom avatar. While Wix Legends is designed to deliver the best possible results, outcomes may vary, and we can't guarantee AI-generated outputs will meet a specific level of quality, accuracy, or relevance. For more information and other terms that apply to AI Services, review the full Wix Terms of Service . Understanding your credits When you purchase a Wix Legends plan, you automatically receive credits. These credits refresh every month based on your plan's purchase date, and any unused credits from the previous month expire at that time. Your Wix Legends credits can only be used within Wix Legends. You cannot use credits from your Wix Legends plan with other Wix AI products. Wix Premium , Wixel , and Symphony plans include their own AI credit allowances which are used for those products. Important: When you buy credits through a Wix Legends paid plan, you are entitled to use those credits for certain designated AI features. Credits are not a digital currency, security, commodity, or any other kind of financial instrument and are not redeemable for any cash value. Credits are only redeemable for the specified AI features across the Wix ecosystem. Wix reserves the right at any time to change the credit cost, the number of credits required for using AI features, and the AI tools that use credits. Using your credits Chatting in the Wix Legends workspace with Atlas is free. Video and voice calls with your Legend use credits based on connected call time. Credits are also used to create each additional custom avatar, beyond the first one included with your paid plan. Examples of actions that use credits: Video calls: About 20 credits are used per connected minute. Voice calls: About 10 credits are used per connected minute. Additional custom avatars: 400 credits are used to generate each additional custom avatar. Your first custom avatar is included with your paid plan. Note: The number of credits a call minute costs can change. The table below shows how many credits each plan gives you per month. Plan Monthly credits Free 300 Basic 1,200 Pro 3,000 Studio 5,000 Checking your credit balance Check your balance to see how many credits you have left, how much call time it covers, and how your credits were used in this billing cycle. To check your credit balance: Desktop browser Go to Wix Legends . Click Settings on the left. Click Plan & billing . Click View Usage . Review your credit details: Credits left: The credits remaining in your current billing cycle. Credits used: How many of your monthly credits you have used so far. Estimated call time left: How many video and voice minutes your remaining credits cover. How your credits were used: A breakdown of this billing cycle by video calls, voice calls, and avatar creation. Mobile browser Go to Wix Legends . Swipe left on the menu at the top and tap Settings . Tap Plan & billing . Tap View usage . Renewing your credits Your credits automatically reset each month, and your account is topped up with the number of credits included in your plan. Unused monthly credits don't roll over to the next cycle. Top-up credits work differently. They stay available for 24 months, remain in your account if you change plan, and they are only drawn on once your monthly credits are used up. You can add credits on any paid plan . FAQs Click a question below to learn more about credits in Wix Legends. What happens when my credits run out? Any active call with your Legend pauses, and visitors can't start new video or voice calls. If you're on a paid plan, you still have unlimited chat, so visitors can continue messaging your Legend. To keep the Legend available for calls, you can add top-up credits or change to a plan with more monthly credits. What happens to my credits when I change plan? You can change your plan to a higher or lower tier at any time. When changing to a higher tier plan, your upgrade takes effect immediately. Any monthly credits you have left carry over and the full credit allowance from your new plan is added on top. Your upgrade starts a new billing cycle, so the day you upgrade becomes your new renewal date. Your top-up credits stay separate and unchanged. When changing to a lower tier plan, your plan will change at the end of the billing period. You continue to enjoy the benefits of your existing plan until then, and can use any remaining credits you have. On the renewal date, you receive your updated credit balance for your new plan. Note: You can still use any remaining top-up credits after your paid plan expires, but you won’t be able to purchase new top-up credits unless you have an active paid plan. Can I get my credits back if I'm not satisfied with the outcome? No. Once credits are used for a call or to generate a custom avatar, they cannot be returned, even if the result does not match your expectations. We recommend testing your Legend before sharing it with visitors to ensure the interaction quality meets your expectations. If you think credits were deducted incorrectly, please contact us. Can I use AI credits from other Wix products in Wix Legends? No. Wix Legends uses its own credits system, which are included in your Wix Legends plan. Credits purchased with the Wix Legends plan are separate and can only be used for Wix Legends. Different Wix AI products have their own plans, and each plan includes its own credits: Wix AI credits: Included with your Wix Premium plan. They are used for Wix AI tools such as Wix Smart Chat, Wix AI assistants, and Wixel. Wixel AI credits: Included with your Wixel plan. They are used for Wixel and on Wix sites. Symphony AI credits: Included with your Symphony plan. They are used for your AI agents in Symphony. How can I control credit usage? Credits are used for connected call time. To control how quickly you use them up, cap how long calls run and how many calls visitors can make each day. Learn how to manage your conversation settings . What other important information do I need to know? You have no right or title in credits except as expressly stated by Wix. You may not sell or transfer credits to another user or account. • Wix Smart Chat: Training Your AI | Wix Expert

< Back Managing your business Managing your customers Wix Smart Chat: Training Your AI By creating training rules for your AI, it can use the knowledge of your business to improve its responses. The AI will learn this information and use it to provide more accurate and informed replies. You can also restrict the AI from providing information on certain topics. Along with the public information on your site, you have a lot of personal knowledge which can be vital when providing the best possible service to your site visitors. Usually this information is about products for sale, services your business provides, or support for your customers. Note: Adding rules does not change the AI’s tone of voice. To adjust the tone and other interaction elements, go to the AI Identity and Style page. Creating knowledge rules Creating knowledge rules to the AI enables it to give your site visitors accurate and satisfactory answers. The more knowledge rules you add, the faster and more reliable its responses will be. View an example from an online clothing store Let's say you own an online clothing store and receive a message from a customer who wants to try on a dress before buying. Your store doesn't have a physical location, but you have a return policy in place where customers can return an item within 14 days of purchase. Knowledge rule: We do not have a physical store, but you can purchase the dress and try it on when you get the package. If it doesn't suit you, you can return it to us within 14 days and get a full refund. For more information, you can read our return policy. View an example from an eco-friendly business Let's say you run an eco-friendly business and want the AI to mention this every time a customer asks a product-related question. Knowledge rule: Our business is eco-friendly, we sell products that do not harm the environment, this is an essential and important part of our store. Mention this when a customer asks a question about a product we sell. To create a knowledge rule: Go to Smart Chat in your site's dashboard. Click the Actions drop-down and select Add knowledge . Give the knowledge rule a clear title that you'll recognize later. Choose how to provide AI with the information: Write all the info the AI should know about this topic: Enter all of the information in the text field. Upload PDF/DOCX file with extra info about this topic: Upload a file from your computer containing the information. Click Add File to attach the document. (Optional) Link the rule to a specific page or product (e.g. link a rule about your return policy to the dedicated policy page): Click Select Page on the right. Select a page from your site. Click Create Rule . Tip: If you add knowledge rules with information for time-sensitive events, such as business hours during holidays, remember to delete those rules afterwards. Creating restriction rules Restricting the AI from providing visitors with information on topics gives you more control over the way it communicates. By adding topics that it shouldn't answer questions about, such as income or your days off, you can define the boundaries of your business. View an example from a personal training business Let's say you run a personal training business and want to avoid answering specific questions about medical concerns or injuries to ensure safety. Restriction rule: Do not provide advice on treating medical conditions or injuries. Giving medical advice could be dangerous because we don’t have the relevant information to assess someone’s health. It’s best to avoid answering these types of questions so clients can get the right help from a healthcare professional instead. View an example from a financial services site Let's say you run a financial services website and want to avoid answering specific questions about investment advice to stay compliant with regulations. Restriction rule: Do not provide personal investment advice or recommendations. Personal investment advice could break financial regulations and cause legal issues for the business. You don’t have the full financial picture of each site visitor, so it’s better not to answer these questions to avoid giving advice that might not be suitable for them. To create a restriction rule: Go to Smart Chat in your site's dashboard. Click the Actions drop-down and select Add restriction . Give the restriction rule a clear title that you'll recognize later. Enter your description in the text field. Choose an option: Tell visitors you will get in touch or show a contact form: The visitor's message about this topic will be forwarded to your Inbox. Tip: Set up a contact form so you can respond later. Say you can't answer questions about this topic: The AI will send an automatic message saying it can't answer the visitor's question on that topic. (Optional) Add a related site page: Link the rule to a specific page or product on your site. For example, link a restriction rule about avoiding legal topics to your site's Terms & Conditions page. Click Select Page on the right. Select a page from your site. Click Create Rule . Editing or deleting training rules You can edit or delete any information you enter in a knowledge or restriction rule. To edit/delete a training rule: Go to Smart Chat in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant training rule tile under the AI tools section. Hover over the rule you want to edit or remove. Choose an option: Edit Click Edit . Edit the rule as needed. Click Update rule . Remove Click the More Actions icon and select Delete . Click Delete again in the pop-up. Note: It is not possible to edit knowledge rules that you added by uploading a PDF/DOCX file. However, you can remove the original knowledge rule and add a new one with the updated file. FAQs Click a question below to learn more about training the AI. Will the AI still work if I didn't add any knowledge rules or restriction rules? Yes, the AI will still read the information publicly available on your site to provide responses to your customers. However, we recommend adding knowledge and restriction rules to increase the AI's accuracy and reliability, allowing it to give an even better level of service. This also lessens the need for you to intervene in chats with customers or answer follow-up questions the AI is unable to answer. Why are there training rules I have to review? When you add feedback while testing the AI or from your Inbox , training rules will appear in the 'To review' tab first. Once you review them, then they'll get added to your list of training rules. Can I add rules while testing the AI chat? Yes, while testing the AI chat you can provide feedback and create training rules on the go. That way you don't have to remember what rules you need to create after finishing to test the responses. Why should I add a related site page? Linking related site pages to rules helps the AI provide even more accurate and context-aware responses when a visitor asks about that topic. By linking a training rule to the relevant page (e.g. a product page, event, or FAQ), the AI understands the context better and can: Pull information from both the training rule and the linked page. Offer smarter answers based on the context. Include a link to the page when relevant. Can I include images in the file I upload when adding a knowledge rule? No, the AI will only refer to text in your uploaded file. Is there a limit to the number of knowledge rules or restriction rules I can add? • Troubleshooting Virus, Malware, and Phishing Warnings | Wix Expert

< Back Need more help? About Wix Troubleshooting Virus, Malware, and Phishing Warnings Virus, malware, and phishing warnings can appear on Wix websites for a number of different reasons. Typically, these warnings are incorrect identifications; or what is called a “false positive”. A false positive occurs when a security system, such as antivirus software, mistakenly identifies something as a threat, though it is actually safe. Click an issue below to find out how to resolve it: Misconfigured DNS records When DNS records are not set up correctly, they might trigger alerts that incorrectly flag a site as potentially harmful. To ensure that your DNS records are properly configured, visit the Wix Domain Assistant . Once your DNS configurations are corrected, the false positive warnings should be resolved. Note : Allow 48hrs for your updated DNS records to propagate. Domain propagation If you recently updated your domain’s DNS records, then your domain may be in a propagation period. This can take up to 48 hours to complete. During this time, your site may not be accessible from all devices, or may appear as insecure. As soon as propagation is complete, your site will be accessible and secure worldwide. Domain reputation Sometimes a domain is used to distribute malware or for phishing attacks, then later it becomes available again for anyone to purchase and register. You can use the following publicly available tools in order to check the reputation of your domain and website: Google Transparency Report VirusTotal If any vendors from VirusTotal or Google report your site as malicious, you can report these false positives directly to the respective vendors. Once the detections are lifted, your website will load as expected. You can report false positives by visiting Virus Total False Positive Contacts . Incorrect AV software detection Antivirus programs have a fairly broad set of criteria for deciding whether or not a file or site is safe, and no antivirus program is 100% immune to false positives. In order to resolve the false positive warning you are encountering, please go to the Settings within your antivirus software and add your website, including Wix.com, to the whitelist (allow list). To do so: Type "add website to whitelist (antivirus software provider name)" into your search engine. Click the support page for your antivirus software provider and follow the given instructions. Strict network security measures Public and private networks often implement specific security protocols to protect sensitive information and maintain the integrity of their systems. As a result, access to certain URLs - including Wix servers and sites - may be restricted. While these measures are designed to prevent potential risks, they can sometimes inadvertently block or flag legitimate, trusted websites as the system prioritizes caution. In order to resolve the false positive warning or block you are encountering, we advise contacting the relevant IT department at your location to see if they can whitelist your website, including Wix.com. Wix’s dedicated security team actively scans our platform and infrastructure for security threats on a regular basis. This is complemented by 24/7 monitoring to detect vulnerabilities and misconfigurations. You can trust that we are taking every necessary measure to maintain a secure and safe environment for you. For additional website security information, see our Wix Security Measures Overview If, after troubleshooting using the steps above, you still encounter security issues, contact the Wix security team and we'll be happy to assist you. • Wix Harmony Editor: Designing Elements | Wix Expert

< Back Using the Wix Harmony Editor Designing your site Wix Harmony Editor: Designing Elements The Design panel lets you bring your creative vision to life, one detail at a time. Whether you want to update colors, customize parts of an element, or set unique styles for different states, you have the flexibility to shape each part of your site’s look and feel. Since every element has its own style options, you’ll see different settings depending on what you’re editing. How do I get started? Click an element, then click the All design options icon on the action bar. Selecting colors Whenever you click a color circle to choose a color, you get to the Color Picker. This is where you can see your site's brand colors, in addition to any custom color you're using. There are 3 ways to pick a new color: Move the dots on the color scheme to find your color Enter the color's code (e.g. #000000 for black) Click the Eyedropper icon to get a color from an element on the page Working with gradients Gradients blend 2 or more colors together and let them flow into each other, giving your background more movement than a solid color. Choose from Linear, Radial, Conic, and Fluid gradients. Linear, Radial, and Conic gradients create more defined color transitions, while Fluid gradients create a softer, mesh-like blend. You can add more colors to the gradient, adjust each color’s opacity, and save gradients to your brand to use again later. Tip: Gradient backgrounds are available for sections, cells within sections, headers, footers, buttons and boxes. Designing parts of elements Some elements in the editor offer detailed design options, letting you style individual parts separately. For example, when working with buttons, you can choose to customize the button itself, its icon, or the text—so you can fine-tune every detail and make it fit your unique style. Use the dropdown to select which part you want to personalize. Designing the hover state (buttons and menus) Clickable elements can have a different design when visitors hover over them. Use hover states to make buttons and menus feel more interactive and help visitors understand where they can take action. Select a button or a menu and click the Hover Design on the action bar to choose a ready-made effect – Underline, Glow, Shadow, Invert, and Tint. For more control, click All Design Options to open the full Design panel. Use the state dropdown to select Hover and customize the available design options. Good to know: You can also customize the hover state when designing buttons in the Brand panel . Design glossary Check out the table below to learn about every design setting – what it means and how it elevates your design. Setting What is it? Background / Fill colors Add a fill color to complement the content of your element. Click the circle next to Color to choose one of your brand or custom colors. Containers and sections: click Replace Background in the action bar to change the background color. You can also click the Opacity icon to make the background more or less visible, and apply a glass effect. Border Define the borders of your element so it stands out. You can choose the color, width and style of the entire border, or click the Edit individual borders icon to design each side separately. Corners Make the corners of your element more square or round by dragging the slider under Radius . Click the Edit individual corners icon to design each corner separately. Shadow Apply shadow to give the element an interesting 3D effect. You can add shadow inside the element (Inner) and make the element cast a shadow as well (Drop). Decide on the shadow's position, blurriness, size, color and opacity. Spacing Add breathing room to your content by adjusting the padding around the element or its selected area. Depending on what you're editing, you may see options to adjust individual sides, add vertical and horizontal spacing and more. Layout Arrange the element just the way you want by adjusting its layout settings. Depending on what you’re editing, you may see options to flip, align, set direction, or fine-tune the size and position. Text Control the look and feel of any text by customizing its font, weight, size, color and formatting. Depending on what you're editing, you may be able to click More text options . • CMS: Understanding the Structure of Your Collection | Wix Expert

< Back Advanced features CMS CMS: Understanding the Structure of Your Collection Wix's CMS (Content Management System) allows you to manage your site's content efficiently. It helps you create, store, and display content dynamically across your website. Understanding the structure of your CMS collections ensures that your content is organized, easily manageable, and dynamically displayed on your Wix site. How collections work In the CMS, collections are like databases where you store your content. Each collection has a specific structure that defines the fields and their types. When you add a dataset to your page, it includes only the fields defined in your collection. This setup ensures that your content is organized and can be dynamically displayed on your site. Benefits of defined fields Defined fields in your collections help in several ways: Connecting page elements: Using datasets, you can easily connect page elements to fields in your collection. Only fields that are part of the defined structure can be linked, ensuring compatibility and functionality. Creating dynamic URLs: When constructing URLs for dynamic pages , you can only use fields from the defined structure. This helps maintain consistency and avoid errors. Undefined fields Undefined fields are those that appear in your collection but are not part of the defined structure. This can happen if you restore a previous version of your site . In such cases, the old structure is restored, but the content remains unchanged, leading to undefined fields. These fields appear with a Warning icon , indicating they need to be defined. To define an undefined field: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Alternatively, you can click CMS in your editor , then click Your Collections . Click the relevant collection. Hover over the Warning icon that appears next to the undefined field's name. Click Define field . Click Change type next to the Field type . Select the appropriate field type for the data you are storing in the field. Click Change Field Type . Click Save . Note: The Field ID is automatically defined when an undefined field is created and cannot be modified. Velo by Wix and undefined fields When using Velo by Wix, you can add content that doesn't belong to an existing field using the Data API . This creates a new field in your collection, but it remains undefined. To use these fields in datasets, you need to define them by selecting a field type. See the steps above for directions. Handling errors and restoring site history Restoring your site from site history reverts its pages and their designs to a previous version. This applies to your dynamic pages and their layouts. However, the content and data structure (schema) in your CMS collections are not reverted when restoring your site. This can result in undefined fields. If needed, you can restore your collections to older versions using CMS backups . Additionally, a 404 error may occur if your sandbox collection is not synced with the live content. Ensure you sync your sandbox content with your live content to avoid this issue. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that!
