- Studio Editor: Working With Layers | Wix Expert
< Back Studio, Partners & Enterprise Wix Studio Studio Editor: Working With Layers Manage the layers of a page as you're working on it in the Studio Editor. This is where you see all of the sections and elements, to better understand their hierarchy. The Layers panel is also helpful when you need to select an element that is difficult to find on the canvas. The structure of the Layers panel The Layers panel displays all of the sections in the current page, in a hierarchy from top to bottom. If the page has a header at the top, for instance, it appears at the top of the list. When nesting elements within other elements, it creates a parent/child relationship between them. For example, text elements within a container are its child elements. In turn, that container is the child of the section that displays it. The Layers panel is organized according to this parenting logic, so you can click a parent element to see its child elements. If your page has any global sections , they are highlighted green. Use the search bar to quickly find the layer you need. You can type the element name or ID. Selecting and managing layers The Layers panel is a useful and quick way to navigate to a certain element on the page. It's also a great way to find an element, for example, if you have overlapping elements and you can't locate or select the one you need. When you hover over a layer, it is highlighted on the page. If you click the layer, the Editor scrolls directly to that element. Even if you close the panel at this point, your selection is still saved. Tip: Select multiple elements by holding the Shift key as you click on them. Did you know? You can also select layers from the breadcrumbs bar at the bottom left of the editor. Managing a layer Found the layer you need? From this panel, you can perform actions like copying the layer, moving it up or down, choosing which pages to show it on and much more. Manage a layer by doing one of the following: Right-click on the layer's name. Hover over the layer's name and click the More Actions icon . Setting a layer selection preference The Studio Editor lets you choose a default pathway for grabbing layers on your canvas. Decide which element gets "selected" when you click a parent container that has child elements. Parent Container First: The parent container (e.g., container box, stack, etc.) is selected when you click it. Then, you can click again on any element inside to edit it. Child Element First: The specific child element you click on is selected, not its parent container. To set a layer selection preference: Click the Wix Studio icon at the top left. Hover over View . Hover over Layer Selection . Select the relevant option: Parent Container First or Child Element First . Renaming layers When adding many sections, containers and elements to a page, it might become difficult to tell them apart in the Layers panel. Rename layers to make sure they're easy to recognize - double-click the relevant layer to give it a new name. Using Dev Mode? Display element IDs in the Layers panel to easily identify elements in your code. Enable the Display IDs toggle to see the IDs as defined in the Properties panel. Reordering layers Using drag and drop, you can easily reorder elements and sections on the current page. As the Layers panel is organized from top to bottom, moving elements around also affects their location on the page. When working with overlapping elements, reordering them also affects the Z order. For example, if you want text to appear on top of a shape, the text must be above the shape in the Layers panel. You can only drag and drop elements within their parent. It is not possible to drag an element to a different parent. Changed the section order on smaller breakpoints? You can always re-apply the order you currently have on desktop. Go to the Layers panel, click the More Actions icon next to Page and select Use Section Order on All Breakpoints . Hiding and unhiding elements You can quickly hide an element from the current breakpoint, directly on the canvas, by clicking the More Actions icon on the element and selecting Hide . However, if you ever need to unhide the element, you must do it from the Layers panel. A hidden element appears with a Hidden icon so you can easily locate it on the list. Tip: When adding an element to a smaller breakpoint (e.g. mobile), it's always hidden on larger breakpoints (e.g. desktop). Following these steps, you can make the element appear on the larger breakpoints. To unhide an element: Click Layers on the left side of the editor. Locate the hidden element on the list. Click the Show icon . This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that! Previous Next Need An AI Run Website? Contact Us Today! Submit

- Wix Stores: Setting When Inventory Gets Updated | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Business solutions & apps Wix Stores: Setting When Inventory Gets Updated Control whether your inventory quantities update as soon as an order is placed or when you receive payment for that order. Choosing the Best Inventory Update Setting for Your Business When deciding which setting to use, you should consider the following: Which payment provider are you using? Some payment providers take up to 5 days to process payments. In this case, if a customer purchases the last product in stock and your inventory isn't set to update when the order is placed, new customers may successfully purchase out-of-stock products. Tip: We recommend that users with payment providers that do not process payments immediately select the "update when the order is placed" setting. These payment providers include: Boleto, Konbini, and Komoju. Note that payment providers who do usually process payments immediately, such as PayPal, sometimes experience delays. This may occasionally cause out-of-stock items to be purchased, especially if you have a large volume of sales. Are you expecting a spike in traffic? If you have an increase in traffic because of a sale, a holiday season (e.g. Cyber Monday), or as a result of extra exposure, it also increases the likelihood that customers could purchase out-of-stock items if your store is set to the "update only after the order is paid" setting. To prevent this from happening, we recommend temporarily setting inventory to the "update when the order is placed" setting. When traffic reduces to normal levels, you can change the setting back. How likely are you to run out of stock? Take into consideration how much stock you normally have on hand. If you have large quantities of stock that are unlikely to run out - even if you have a spike in sales - you may prefer to use the "update only after the order is paid" setting. On the other hand, if you only keep a small number of each product in stock, and it takes a long time to restock, the "update when the order is placed" setting may be more suitable for your business. What Happens if a Payment is not Completed? If you chose the "update when the order is placed" setting, your inventory reduces as soon as your customer checks out. Then, if you do not receive payment for some reason, the product is re-added to the inventory as soon as Wix Stores receives notification that payment couldn't be completed. Note: If a customer starts to purchase the last item in stock without completing payment, you may see a notification saying that a product is out of stock. However, when trying to locate the relevant order, it won't be found because the customer never completed the sale and the item was re-added to inventory. Learn more about troubleshooting pending and missing orders . Setting When Inventory Quantities Update Go to Store products & inventory settings in your site's dashboard. Select an option under Update store inventory : Only after the order is paid: Inventory is updated as soon as you receive payment. Note: For some payment providers, this can take a few days. When the order is placed: Inventory is updated as soon as the customer checks out. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that! Beyond meeting the DSA requirements, Wix continues to enhance user experience, expand control features, and strengthen transparency to further our mission of fostering a safe, positive, and empowering online community. This transparency report includes data for content, users, and reporters from across the EU Member States. This report covers 12 months of data: from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. Wix policies Wix’s Terms of Use binds users to various guidelines and policies regarding the content they create at Wix. These include our Content Guidelines and related policies, which explain what is and isn’t allowed at Wix. Together, we refer to these as “guidelines” or our “policies". Content policies Wix does not pre-approve the content of our users’ sites and may monitor them for security or safety reasons. However, if we receive a valid notice justifying a site's removal - or decide that a user’s content is not in compliance with our Terms of Use and/or our guidelines - we reserve our right to act. This means removing any illegal and/or non-compliant content immediately; as appropriate, and as required by law. Our policies prohibit the creation and publication of the content containing: Intellectual property infringements Adult and sexually explicit material used in abusive manners Spam Phishing Harmful technology Bullying, harassment and defamation Violence and hate speech Terrorist content Illegal and regulated goods and services Self-harm We work hard to enforce our policies as we strive to maintain a free and secure environment for our users and their visitors. This includes using automated tools, manual review and a hybrid approach that combines elements, both to assess content, and to remove or block violating content Additionally, we make sure to act upon the actions of repeating offenders and have a policy in place for multiple infringements caused by the same user. Further, Wix has measures and protection against misuse in place. We hold accountable reporters of violating content who act in bad faith, as we strive to protect our users and their use of our services as a way to express themselves in a free and unbiased way. If we learn that reports submitted by a specific reporter, via our internal notice and action system, are false or unlawful, we suspend the ability of such a reporter to submit notices via our support systems. Besides enforcing Wix Content Guidelines , we hold in high regard applicable laws of the EU and its Member States. When we are made aware that specific content violates Wix guidelines, we take necessary action against it worldwide. If we determine that content violates local law, but does not otherwise violate Wix’s guidelines or Terms of Use, we remove it in a specific jurisdiction by blocking it in the country or region at issue. Law enforcement guidelines Wix Law Enforcement Guidelines provides practical information for law enforcement agencies and other governmental entities that wish to obtain data held by Wix, or report any illegal content in accordance with an applicable law. These guidelines are an informational resource only. They are not intended to preclude due process under the applicable laws in relation to the responses Wix provides in any particular case. Wix reserves the right to act in each individual case in accordance with the mandatory legal requirements applicable to us. Before submitting any request to Wix.com, we ask that all law enforcement agencies read this policy to make sure they fully understand our practices. The information on the number of orders to provide information about Wix users is available in the data and numbers section . Internal complaint handling system Wix has an internal complaint handling system to process inquiries submitted in accordance with DSA requirements. The notices may be submitted by: Users residing in the EU Users residing outside of the EU about content accessible within the EU Trusted Flaggers appointed by the European Commission If users or third-party complainants find any content or behavior of our services that they consider to be illegal, or in violation of Wix Content Guidelines, or of any other Wix Terms, they can report it via our content abuse forms . The abuse forms are divided by types of infringing content users may encounter at Wix to ease the reporting process. Our Policy Team reviews the report and takes relevant action in a timely manner. By using these forms, reporters consent to submit inquiries in good faith and not misuse any reporting or the appeals channel by making baseless reports or appeals. In order to process the requests submitted via the abuse forms, the reporters are asked to provide as much detailed information as possible. This includes clearly defining the reported content by providing direct links of site pages where such content is located. Additionally, reporters are expected to provide statements of reason why they believe Wix is required to act on a certain content, and clarify whether the report is based on a Member State law violation, or a Wix Terms of Use infringement. Actions against illegal content and violations of Wix Terms If users upload any content that violates an applicable law, Wix Content Guidelines, any other Wix Terms, or any other agreement between users and Wix that governs their use of any Wix services, we may, as appropriate and necessary, with or without notice: Warn the user Restrict the visibility of any infringing or violating content, including removal of or disabling access to such content Suspend, terminate or restrict monetary payments Suspend or terminate the provision of Wix services in whole or in part Suspend or terminate the user account Detection and Enforcement As described above, individuals may report content they believe infringes our guidelines or Member State laws. If we determine an infringement of our Terms, or an apparent violation of Member State laws, we act either via proactive or reactive measures. Proactive measures Based on the "Good Samaritan" provision outlined in the DSA, Wix undertakes voluntary investigations aiming to identify and act against illegal content. We do this by applying a combination of automated tools and human review to proactively moderate content created by our users. Prior to removing such detected content, we hide it and notify the affected user. Our automated tools are designed to make our best efforts in trying to identify specific illegal content, or content that violates our terms and policies, such as: Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM ): Once identified, our team of trained moderators reviews and, if necessary, takes action on suspicious content. Phishers and fraudster behavior: Based on specific patterns, we strive to identify accounts that have the purpose of conducting any form of web forgery. This includes publishing malicious websites, or tricking visitors into giving up sensitive information such as passwords, account details, or credit card numbers. We apply the latest modeling methodologies and continuously review our automated decision models. We are constantly researching new data and apply the latest technical breakthroughs which allow us to maintain or improve our performance to successfully detect infringing content. To maintain and improve the quality of automated decision making tools, we evaluate the performance of specific machine learning models through offline analysis and online testing before setting them to production. We assess many metrics to determine the effectiveness of our automated decision making tools before and after launch. We constantly re-asses information and other relevant KPIs to continually identify areas for improvement. Reactive measures In addition, Wix employs the following reactive measures: Communication channels: Wix offers channels allowing both individuals and law enforcement agencies to report content that allegedly violates the law, and/or our terms and policies. Moderation: We provide ongoing training and support to ensure that our moderators have the necessary skills and knowledge to moderate content effectively. As a general rule, we base our assessment and decision-making for content moderation on the specific content users have made available online via our hosting services. This includes information contained in any notices we receive. However, where appropriate, we may also consider actions and statements made outside of our services in order to maintain a safe and respectful environment for all our customers and our users’ users. Data and numbers Please find the numbers of internal complaint system notices, Member States’ removal and user data orders, and Trusted Flaggers inquiries, as well as the median processing time of each type of complaint in our Transparency Report . Conclusion Wix's primary objective is to ensure the safety of our users and employees. All the actions outlined in this report are aimed at earning and maintaining our customers’ trust. We strive to improve online safety and to make the internet a better place. Alongside our strong and proactive controls, we are constantly developing new tools and enhancing our technology to identify bad actors and illegal content, ensuring they are prevented from appearing at Wix. We proactively tackle phishing and inappropriate content before users and their visitors ever face it. In cases where things fall through and are reported, we act as fast as possible to disable the content, hold infringers accountable, and use these occurrences to strengthen our future prevention and monitoring efforts. - Studio Editor: Adding and Managing Pages | Wix Expert
< Back Studio, Partners & Enterprise Wix Studio Studio Editor: Adding and Managing Pages Use the Pages panel to add new site pages and manage the existing ones. Change the pages' settings, reorder them for better organization and delete pages that you no longer need. Navigating between pages: Use the page navigation dropdown at the top of the Studio Editor to easily move between pages. Adding a page Add new site pages from the Pages panel. You can choose from different types of pages based on your needs. The pages are divided into categories so you can easily find them in the panel. For example, some apps (e.g. Wix Stores) automatically add site pages to display relevant content - those pages are in their own categories. Tip: Wix sites can have up to 298 pages, including 100 static pages. Each dynamic or app page counts as one page, no matter how many CMS items or unique URLs it displays. To add a new page: Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click + Add New Page at the bottom. Select a page type: Page: A standard blank page. Dynamic Page : A page that can change its content while keeping the same design and layout. Any element that's connected to your Content Collection changes according to what item is being viewed. Enter the page name and press Enter on your keyboard. Note: New pages are automatically displayed on the site's main menu. Reordering pages in the Pages panel Using drag and drop, you can change the order of pages in the Pages panel. Organize them in a way that helps you work more efficiently. Tip: Reorganizing the Pages panel does not affect the order of pages on the site menu(s). To reorder pages: Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Hover over the relevant page. Hold the Reorder icon next to the page and drag it to the desired location. Copying and pasting pages between sites Want to re-use a page's layout and design? Copy and paste it to another Studio Editor site in your account. You can also choose which site's header and footer to use on the page. Important: Any apps, code, and CMS content on a page you copy are not pasted to the other site. To copy and paste pages: Open the site with the page you want to copy in your editor. Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon on the relevant page. Select Copy Page . Open the other site editor in a new tab. Paste the page in that site: Right-click anywhere on the canvas. Click Paste page . Select whether you want to use the header and footer design from the copied page, or the current site. Click Paste Page to confirm. Keyboard shortcuts: You can also copy a page by selecting it in your editor and selecting Ctrl / ⌘ + C. You can use Ctrl / ⌘ + V in the other site's editor to paste it. Deleting a page You can always remove site pages that are no longer relevant. Tip: You can also hide a page temporarily if you don't want it published for a while. See Hiding a page below. To delete a page: Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon on the relevant page. Click Delete . Click Delete Page to confirm. Hiding a page If you would like to hide a page temporarily, or are still working on a page and you don't want to publish it yet, you can hide it from the menu and / or search results. Site visitors can't access hidden pages unless you link to them directly. Click below to learn how to: Hide a page from a menu You can remove a page from a menu so visitors can no longer see it. This does not delete the page from the site. Select the relevant menu in the editor. Click Manage Menu . Hover over a page and click the More Actions icon . Click Remove From Menu . Note: You cannot hide a page from the main site menu, only from additional menus you create. However, you can delete the main site menu and replace it with a custom menu. Prevent search engines from indexing the page Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon on the relevant page. Click SEO Basics . Disable the Let search engines index this page toggle. Changing the page settings After adding a new page to the site, set it up from one easy place. You can change settings like the page name, permissions, SEO and the way it's shared on social media. To change the page settings: Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon on the relevant page. Click Settings . Set up the page by clicking the tabs at the top of the Page Settings panel: Page info: Change the page's name, set it as the homepage or control its caching . Access: Decide who can access this page - everyone, password holders , or members only. SEO basics: Set up how the page appears in search engines such as Google. Social share: Review and customize the way the page looks when people share it on social media. Customizing the page's SEO settings Wix automatically adds default SEO settings for the page's title tag, meta description, and URL slug. You can customize these settings to help search engines and social networks display relevant information about the page. To customize the page's SEO settings: Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click the More Actions icon on the relevant page. Click SEO Basics . Customize any of the following SEO settings: URL slug: This text is the last part of the page's URL. You should only change this if it's necessary to reflect the page's content. We recommend keeping it short and easy to read. Title tag: Add a title that summarizes the content of the page, to appear on search engines results. Meta description: Add a short description of the content on the page. This description helps visitors decide if the page is relevant to them. Click the Let search engines index this page toggle to set whether search engines can crawl and index the page or not: Enabled: Search engines will index the page. People can find the page when searching keywords and phrases in search engines. Disabled: Search engines will not index the page. People cannot find the page when searching keywords and phrases in search engines. Editing the URL slug? Wix automatically creates a 301 redirect for the page so the old link refers to the new link. If you've manually redirected the page in the past, it creates a conflict that you can resolve from the SEO Dashboard.
