You can choose when reminders are sent, set a minimum balance, and edit the email content for different reminder types. Set up reminders from the Automatic email reminders section in your gift card settings, then edit the email content for activity-based and expiration-based reminders. Notes: To create reminders before a card expires, make sure your gift cards have an expiration date . Before expiration: Sends the reminder before the card's expiration date. (Optional) Click Add Reminder to create another reminder or click the Delete icon next to a reminder to remove it. Click Save . Notes: 2 reminder rows appear by default: 30 days after last activity and 90 days after last activity. You can set up up to 3 reminders, and at least 1 reminder must remain. How much time passes before a reminder is sent? This depends on the number of days you enter in each reminder row and the trigger you choose. For example, you can send a reminder 30 days after last activity or 7 days before card expiration. Why can't I select the 'Before expiration' option? This option is only available when your gift cards have an expiration date. If your gift cards do not expire, this option remains unavailable. Do reminder changes apply to gift cards that were already sold? Yes. Changes you make in the reminders section apply right away to existing and new gift cards on that site. What happens if the remaining balance is equal to or lower than my minimum balance setting? That reminder is skipped for that gift card. Do manually issued gift cards follow these settings? Yes. Manually issued gift cards follow the same global reminder settings for that site. You do not need to change anything when issuing a card from the dashboard. Do reminder settings apply across all my sites? No. Each site has its own reminder settings, and those settings apply only to the gift cards for that specific site. • Understanding Your Site's Sitemap File | Wix Expert

< Back Promoting your site SEO (get found on Google) Understanding Your Site's Sitemap File Important: If you change the default canonical tag for a page, the page's URL may disappear from your site's sitemap. To restore the page URL to your sitemap, remove the canonical tag . A sitemap is an XML file that contains a list of the URLs of the pages on your site. It also contains useful information such as the relationships between pages and when each page was last updated. Sitemaps can help search engines prioritize pages of large sites, find pages that haven't been linked to, and crawl and index sites in greater detail. Without a sitemap, it can take search engines time to find your site's pages from its source code. A sitemap gives this information directly to search engines to increase indexing time and accuracy. Wix automatically updates your site's sitemap whenever you make changes to your site. The structure of your site's sitemap Every Wix site comes with a sitemap index, which is a list of all your site's individual sitemaps. The individual sitemaps are made up of items which contain information about a group of pages on your site. These items contain info such as page URLs and the last time each page was updated. For example, if you have Wix Stores on your site, your sitemap index has an individual sitemap for Wix Stores that contains a list of your product pages. Sitemap index The sitemap index is a list of all your individual sitemaps. Submitting this file to search engines helps them to detect and crawl each individual sitemap so that the pages can appear in search results. Here's an example of what a sitemap index looks like: Individual sitemaps Depending on what features you have on your site, your index may contain multiple individual sitemaps. • Studio Editor: Using Multi-State Boxes | Wix Expert

< Back Studio, Partners & Enterprise Wix Studio Studio Editor: Using Multi-State Boxes Multi-state boxes let you show different content for different situations in the same container box, displaying one state at a time. Choose the amount of states your box should have, design them completely and give them IDs that you will later use in your code. Your code defines when each state should be displayed. You can create conditions for each state to appear automatically, or let visitors navigate on their own. Step 1 | Add a multi-state box The first step is adding a multi-state box to your site directly from the Add panel. Drag the box to the desired location on your page. To add a multi-state box: Click Add Elements on the left side of the Editor. Click Layout Tools . Click Multi-state Boxes . Drag a multi-state box to the relevant location on your page. Use multi-state boxes inside repeaters: Once you add a multi-state box to a repeater item, it's automatically added to the rest of the items with the exact same design. This is useful for lists with repeating items like FAQs or product galleries. Step 2 | Add and design the states Once you've added the box, design the states that it displays. You can customize these states however you choose: Use them for small badges like product availability (e.g., "New", "Out of Stock"), or create a completely different design for each state. Click below to learn how to: Select and design a state The states that you create are the child elements of the multi-state box. You can see and customize each one individually directly from the Manage States panel. To select and design a state: Select the multi-state box. Click Manage States . Click a state in the list. Add elements and design the state as you wish. Tip: While designing the states, code is not required. This means everyone can customize them – not just developers. Add a state You can add as many states as you need to your multi-state box. To add a new state: Select the multi-state box. Click Manage States . Click Add New State . Add an ID for the state: Hover over the new state and click the More Actions icon . Click Edit ID . Enter a new ID for this state. Click Done . Rename a state Enter a unique ID for each of your states. While writing the code that defines when the states appear, this is the IDs you'll need to use. To rename a state: Select the multi-state box. Click Manage States . Click the More Actions icon next to the current state's name. Click Edit ID . Enter the new ID in the text box and click Done . Remove a state Select the multi-state box. Click Manage States . Click the More Actions icon next to the current state's name. Click Delete . Reorder states For your convenience, you can move states in the Manage States panel by dragging and dropping them. Select the multi-state box. Click Manage States . Click and drag the Reorder icon up or down to change the order of the states. Design tip: The states can have different height properties, which allow you to reveal additional info for example. However, the width of your states always stays the same. Step 3 | Add code The last step to make the multi-state box functional is adding code that controls when each state appears. Using the functions and events available in the Velo API for multi-state boxes, you can define and implement rules for displaying and navigating your states. Important: While adding the relevant code, make sure you wrote the state IDs correctly, with the exact same spelling and capitalization. • Site Performance: Your Site's DOM Order | Wix Expert

< Back Need more help? Solving performance and technical issues Site Performance: Your Site's DOM Order Your site's DOM order refers to the reading order of elements on your pages. This order is important for visitors using assistive technologies such as the Tab key or screen readers, as it determines the order in which they can view or interact with these elements. We recommend ensuring that the DOM order matches the visual order of elements on your pages, so every visitor can navigate through your site with ease. As well as improved accessibility, matching the loading order also prevents layout issues on your site. DOM order and site performance The DOM determines the sequence in which elements load on your site. If the DOM order does not match the visual order of elements, it can impact your site's loading. For example, if a button appears at the bottom of a page but is first in the DOM order, it loads before the elements above it. As additional content loads, the page's layout may shift and move around to accommodate the other elements. Furthermore, if a visitor attempts to click that button while the rest of the content loads, they may accidentally select another element and be taken to another page or section. Your site's DOM order should match the visual order of the page and the reading sequence of the language (left-to-right or right-to-left script) to ensure that it loads correctly, and is a smoother experience for visitors. DOM order on Wix Editor sites Automatic DOM order is automatically enabled on your desktop editor site. This means that any changes you make to the visual order of elements are automatically applied to the DOM order, so you don't need to do anything. When you build a site with the desktop editor, a mobile version of your site is created. The DOM order of your mobile site is also automatically arranged, and doesn't require any manual changes. Note: Automatic DOM order is only applied to changes on desktop when you save your site. DOM order on Studio Editor sites Auto DOM order is automatically enabled on sites you build in the Studio Editor. The order is automatically rearranged when you add, align, and resize elements - so it should stay optimized as you go. You can disable auto DOM on a Studio Editor site and make manual changes if needed. Learn more about DOM order on Studio Editor . Note: Auto DOM is automatically enabled on sites created in the Studio Editor after the beginning of November 2024. If you created a site before this date, it is not enabled. DOM order on Wix Harmony Editor sites Wix organizes the DOM order of your Harmony Editor site. This order is automatically adjusted as you add, resize, and move elements; so you don't need to worry about making any manual changes. However, you can manually adjust the DOM order of individual sections and containers as needed. Changed a site's language? Changing a site's language to one with a different reading direction may cause the DOM order to be unaligned with the visual order of elements. If you change the site's language to one with a different reading direction, we recommend using the Accessibility Wizard to reorganize page elements and content . • Wix Stores: Adding Product Modifiers | Wix Expert

< Back Managing your business Business solutions & apps Wix Stores: Adding Product Modifiers Important: We're in the process of releasing a brand-new product creation page. If the first field you see is ' Images and videos ', you have the previous version where modifiers aren't available. You can, however, add product options . Use modifiers to provide product customizations that don't require different pricing or separate inventory tracking for each one. Modifiers allow you to offer free additional extras, such as gift wrapping, embellishments, or engraving. Customers can select the modifiers they prefer on the product page. Understanding when to add product options and when to add modifiers Product options let you manage certain things separately for each variant. Let's look at an example. A store owner sells a t-shirt that comes in small and large. They track inventory quantities for each size. In addition, each size is sold at a different price. To manage pricing and inventory for each variant (the small and large variants), they need to create 'Size' as a product option. This merchant sells another t-shirt, but it comes in 1 size. The seller offers the t-shirt with either a cat print or a dog print. After the merchant receives an order, they add the print to the t-shirt (it's an embellishment, not a separate product). In this example, the product has 1 type of inventory and is always sold at the same price, so they create the cat/dog print option as a modifier. If you need to manage any of the following per variant, use product options instead of modifiers: Inventory Pricing Pre-order Cost of goods Shipping weights Tip: You can add both product options and modifiers to a product. Learn more about the differences between product options and modifiers . Adding modifiers Modifiers can appear as text choices, color swatches, or as text boxes that customers fill in. You can set any modifier as required or optional. Note: As of October 2026, new modifiers are optional by default, and modifiers you created before this update keep their current setting. To add modifiers: Go to Products in your site's dashboard. Click +New Product or select an existing product. Scroll down to the Modifiers section. Click +Add Modifier . Choose the type of option you want to create: Create a text choice modifier You can create text choice modifiers for customers to select. Then, go to the layout settings in your editor to choose how you want to display the choices: in a dropdown list or as buttons. Enter the modifier name (e.g. Mug Style). Tip: This name is visible to customers. Select Text choices from the Field type dropdown. Select or deselect the checkbox next to This is a required field . Type your first option choice (e.g. Panda). Click +Another Choice and add additional option choices (e.g. Dolphin). Click Add . Create a color swatch modifier Use this option to let customers select a color. Tip: You also have the option of uploading a swatch image instead of a solid color. Enter a modifier name. Tip: This name is visible to customers. Select Color swatches from the Field type dropdown. Select or deselect the checkbox next to This is a required field . Enter or select an option name (e.g. Color or Pattern). Type your first color name (e.g. Pink or Floral). Click the Select shade icon . Enter a color code or select a shade. Note: The shade you choose will be used for this color in all products. (Optional) Select a swatch image: Note: Even if you add an image, you need to select a color. Click the Plus icon next to Swatch image . Upload or select the swatch image and click Add Media . Click the Checkmark icon . Add additional colors. Click Add . Create a text box modifier Create a text box modifier to allow customers to enter free text. Enter a modifier name. Tip: This name is not visible to customers. Select Text box from the Field type dropdown. Select or deselect the checkbox next to This is a required field . Enter the Text box title (e.g. What name should we add to the gift box?) Enter the maximum characters that customers can enter. Click Add . FAQs Click a question below to learn more. What do modifiers look like on my site? When you create a modifier, you can choose one of 3 field types: text choices, color swatches, or text boxes where customers enter text. Tip: For your customers, text choices or color swatches for a product option or a modifier look the same. In the example below, the size drop-down is a product option while the other selections are all modifiers. Text choices can be displayed either as a drop-down list or as buttons. Learn more about selecting how your text options are displayed . How many modifiers can I create? You can add up to 10 modifiers. How can I connect an image or video to a modifier? After you create and save a modifier, you can add images or videos to each option. Click the More Actions icon next to a modifier. Select Connect images & videos . Click the Plus icon next to the first option. Select or upload an image and click Apply . Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all the available modifiers. Click Apply . Can I make changes to multiple modifiers at once? Yes. If, for instance, you added an engraving modifier to multiple products, but decide that you no longer offer engraving, you can delete this modifier. It will be removed from all products. You can also edit the modifier name. The change will apply to all relevant products. Do customers see the modifier name I enter? The modifier name you give when creating a text choice or color swatch field type is displayed to customers. However, when you create a text box field type, you enter a separate modifier name that is for internal use. For customers, you can enter a longer text box title (up to 100 characters). This gives you the option of adding a short name for yourself, but a longer title that explains the option to customers. Are modifiers always required fields? You can set text choices, color swatches, and text box modifiers as either required or optional. When customers leave an optional modifier unanswered, they can still add the product to their cart. Note: As of October 2026, new modifiers are optional by default, and modifiers you created before this update keep their current setting. I use my modifier choices to display filters on my live site. How can I organize them? You can make filtering simpler for customers by grouping similar option choices together. For example, instead of showing each shade as a separate filter, you can combine them into a single filter for each color. You can also chose how you want to sort the filter options, including the ability to manual reorder them into an order that makes sense for your site. • Wix Events: Understanding Different Types of Events | Wix Expert

< Back Managing your business Business solutions & apps Wix Events: Understanding Different Types of Events There are many different ways we can describe events, and the same event may be described in different ways at different times. For example, every RSVP or ticketed event starts as a draft and later becomes a published event. Then, once that event is over, it goes from being an upcoming event to a past event. This article explains all the different ways you can categorize events so you can use them optimally. RSVP events vs. ticketed events The first important distinction you need to make is between RSVP events and ticketed events. Create RSVP events for weddings, parties, and gatherings, where you want to invite guests and have them RSVP to let you know if they're attending. If you hold the kinds of events where you sell tickets, (even free tickets), then go ahead and create a ticketed event. These are suited for events like concerts, guided tours, and conferences. Read more about the differences between RSVP and ticketed events Single events vs. recurring events If you plan to create just one event, such as a wedding, or if you hold various events that are different from each other - then single events are for you. However, if you offer an event on a regular basis, such as the same guided tour every Friday, creating a recurring event can save you time. To create a recurring event, start by creating a template event. You can add all your details, (tour name, image, description, location, etc.) to the template and save it. Next, select the dates when your tour is held. Once you click "Publish", each tour becomes an individual event which you can edit to reflect changes if needed. You can create new event dates from the template at any time. Get started: Learn how to create a single event Learn how to create a recurring event Event drafts vs. published events Every event starts out as a draft event. You enter the basic information and click Create Draft to save the draft. You can continue to edit the event details or customize the settings. When you're ready, publish your event so that it's available for display on your site. Tip: After you publish, the event is available to be displayed on your site, but might not necessary be visible. See below . To locate all your drafts and published events, click the relevant dashboard tab. Events with and without registration You may want to use Wix Events just to let others know about your event, without requiring guests to RSVP or purchase tickets. Creating a no-registration event can be a good option if you have a large venue with unlimited space, such as a park, or to let people know about an open house type event. You have the option of creating a no-registration event with or without the events details page. Get started: Create events that don't require registration Upcoming events vs. past events Any event that is set to occur in the future is an upcoming event. Past events have already taken place. You can use these classifications to choose what to display on a site page. For example, you might want to create a page with upcoming events and another showcasing your past events. Tips: If you do not add an end time to an event when creating it, the status automatically changes from an Upcoming event to a Past Event 24 hours after the event starts. Learn how to edit and display past events . Event categories Events can be classified according to the category or categories they belong to. Organizing events into categories makes it easy to display different types of events on different site pages. Let's look at an example. This animal shelter created 2 categories: One for dog-related events and one for cat events: Every time the animal shelter creates a new event, they assign it to the appropriate category. In the Editor, they use the categories they created to display all the dog events on one site page and the cat events on another. Get started: Create and manage event categories Displayed events vs. hidden events "Displayed events" and "hidden events" aren't exactly event statuses, but it's good to be aware that there are many things that influence whether an event appears on your site. Which events are not displayed on your site? Draft events cannot be displayed on your site. Events that are set not to be displayed, for example, if you set up a page to display only past events, new events won't appear there. Categories that are set not be displayed, for example, if you set up a page to display only events in the Dogs category, a new event in the Cats category won't appear after you publish it. Want to manually choose which events are displayed on your site? Wix Events has a Select Manually option that allows you to pick and choose which individual events you want to display on a site page. If you use this option, new events you publish won't appear on your site until you select them. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that!
