- Wix Payments: About Suspicious Payments | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Accepting payments on your site Wix Payments: About Suspicious Payments If a payment appears as Suspicious in your Wix Payments account, there is a very high probability that the order has been made without the cardholder’s knowledge or permission. If you are in any doubt about the legitimacy of a payment, consider refunding the payment and holding off on fulfilling the order. This may help you to prevent a potential loss. Investigating a suspicious payment Carefully analyze orders that seem suspicious to help you avoid a chargeback . Chargeback fraud is a risk for all businesses that accept card payments. A cautious merchant will: Verify high-value orders: If you receive an order with an unusually high-value, it's worth taking the time to verify the customer's identity. We recommend setting up a face-to-face call, if possible. Large repeated orders on such items also pose a high risk. Verify the customer's contact details: It may be a good idea to call the customer's contact number, or google their email address to check for anything unusual. Check the billing address against the shipping address : If they match, the chance of fraud is reduced. If they don't match, you may want to ask your customer why that is? Watch for card processing behaviors: Be wary of multiple declined payments, or multiple attempts from different cards. It is unlikely that one customer will have 6 or more cards. Likewise, beware of cases where customers ask to split the payment into 2 or more partial payments, spread over different cards. Analyze unusual shipping behavior: Notice if shipping is overpriced in comparison to the value of goods; if your customer insists on a rush-shipping option without sign-on delivery; or shipping to forwarding companies that provide reshipping to other countries. Avoid 3rd party payment requests : Avoid requests to pay for special “vendor” services that you do not offer (such as door-to-door delivery, custom shipping, catering or event planning). These may be Western Union, Zelle, Cash App or similar money transfer requests. Any 3rd party requests may be indicative of a scam. Be aware that such payments are final. Likewise, we don’t recommend issuing refund requests via these payment methods. Instead, use the original payment method provided by your customer. Refunding a suspicious payment If a cardholder doesn't recognize the payment, they are likely to file a chargeback. In these scenarios, cardholders are likely to win any chargeback dispute. This means you will lose the value of the order, as well as incurring possible penalties against your Wix Payments account. Penalties may include an increase in your chargeback ratio , or possibly even the closure of your account. If you haven't yet fulfilled the order, refunding the purchase allows you to retain the value of the goods or services (minus the transaction processing fees), and limits your financial loss. If you've already fulfilled the order, it's true that, in issuing a refund, you'll lose the value of the purchase. However, your losses will be cut there. A chargeback, on the other hand, will mean the loss of the purchase value, as well as increasing your chargeback ratio. This could put your business at risk, as your Wix Payments account may be closed due to a high chargeback ratio. Canceling fulfillment of the order If you doubt the legitimacy of a payment, consider holding off on fulfilling the order. If the order is for a product, event or service, follow the relevant advice on how to cancel fulfillment: Shipping : If the order is for a product that has yet to ship, consider canceling shipment. If you've already shipped the order, it may still be possible to intercept the order. Some delivery services, such as USPS , UPS and FedEx allow you to redirect your already shipped order. Wix Events : If you have provided a ticket for an event, you can cancel the ticket(s) before the event is held. Wix Bookings : If the order is connected to a service provided with Wix Bookings, you can cancel the session . - Studio Editor: Using the Members Area | Wix Expert
< Back Studio, Partners & Enterprise Wix Studio Studio Editor: Using the Members Area A Members Area is the ideal platform to turn site visitors into loyal customers. Every member gets their own account where they can see their information and manage their activity. For example, members can check on their latest store order or reschedule a session they've booked. Go to our Wix Studio Academy to check out additional Wix Studio webinars, tutorials, and courses. Adding the Members Area Add the Members Area app to your client's site directly from the editor. This automatically adds the Member Page and a Login Bar element, allowing people to sign up and log in. Before you begin: If you see the Member Page in the Pages panel, the Members Area is already installed. Some templates already include the Members Area app, and certain Wix apps (e.g. Wix Stores, Wix Groups) automatically install the Members Area. To add the Members Area: Click App Market on the left side of the editor. Click App Market . Enter "Wix Members Area" in the search bar. Click Wix Members Area . Click Add to Site . Choosing which tabs to display The Members Area is made up of different tabs, centralized under one site page – the Member Page. You can choose which tabs to show on the Member Menu , depending on the capabilities your client wants members to have. While the Member Menu only shows the default tabs, you can add any link to the Login Bar menu. The available tabs depend on the Wix apps that are currently installed. For example, Wix Stores adds tabs like "My Wallet" and "My Orders", for members to easily manage their purchases. When using Members Area with other social Wix apps (e.g. Wix Blog), every member also gets a Profile tab, encouraging interaction between members. If you're not using a social app, you can always add this tab from the Member Menu. Customizing tabs in the Members Area You can personalize each tab of the Members Area so it fits your client's brief. Edit the texts that appear on the tab and adjust the design, choosing the colors and fonts you need. You can also customize the Members Area to fit your client's design and purposes. For example, you can switch to a different layout. To access and customize a tab: Go to the Member Page in the editor. Select the Member Menu. Click Manage and Navigate . Click the relevant tab to access it. Customize the tab to your liking: Select the tab. Tip: Usually, the content of the tab is displayed in a single widget. This widget is what you need to select. Click Settings . Use the available settings to customize the tab's texts, design and layout. The Members Area includes both private and public tabs . Private tabs (e.g. Account Settings) usually include a member's personal info, whereas public tabs (e.g. Profile) are visible to any site member. Showing exclusive member-only content Add custom pages to the Members Area, on top of the built-in tabs. This is a great way to make announcements and market exclusive promotions. You can design these custom pages from scratch, based on the content your client wants to show their members. To add a private member page: Click Pages on the left side of the editor. Click + Add New Page at the bottom. Click Add under Members Area Page . (Optional) Customize the page's name and permissions: Rename the page: Double-click the page and enter the new name. Tip: This automatically changes the page's name in the Login Bar menu. Limit the page to specific roles or pricing plans: Hover over the page and click the More Actions icon . Click Settings . Click the Permissions tab. Select the relevant option under Which members can access this page? . What's next? Once you create a custom page, it's automatically added to the Login Bar menu. Viewing and managing site members Once you make the Members Area live, visitors can sign up by clicking the Login Bar. Head over to the site's dashboard to see and manage the member list . The list is divided into current members, members who are waiting to be approved, as well as members who were reported or blocked. To view the member list: Go to the relevant site dashboard . - CMS: Saving Collection Changes as Drafts First | Wix Expert
< Back Advanced features CMS CMS: Saving Collection Changes as Drafts First The CMS (Content Management System) gives you a safe way to work on your collection content before it goes live on your site. When you enable drafts for a collection and select Save changes as draft first , new items and edits are saved as drafts until someone with the right permission publishes them. Your team can draft and preview content together before it goes live. You can set who can edit, publish, or delete content in each collection. Team members without publishing permissions can still make changes, but those changes are saved as drafts until someone with publishing permissions publishes them. Notes: Per collection: You can turn on Save changes as draft first for each collection separately, in the collection's settings. Item level only: Draft changes apply to collection items. Changes to the collection structure (fields and schema) are not saved as drafts. Understanding item statuses In a collection that saves changes as drafts first, each item shows a status so you can see where it is in the flow. Draft: An item that cannot appear on your live site since it is not published. This includes new items that have not been published yet, and previously published items that were later unpublished. Changed: A published item that has unpublished edits saved over the live version. The live site keeps showing the published version until you publish the changes. Published: The item is live on your site. Enabling the 'Save changes as draft first' setting Only site admins, or collaborators with permission to manage collection settings, can change this setting. Important: You can't use input elements to add or edit items in collections set to Save changes as draft first . To collect content with input elements, select Publish changes immediately and set new items to Draft by default . To enable saving changes as drafts: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Click More Actions at the top and select Collection settings . Enable the Enable drafts toggle. Select Save changes as draft first . Click Save . Tip: Continue to the next section to learn how to set permissions for your team members. Setting collaborator and role permissions When a collection is set to Save changes as draft first , a Collaborators & specific roles permissions table appears below the existing Advanced permissions table in the collection settings. Use this table to control what each collaborator or role can do with the collection's content. To set permissions for saving changes as drafts: Enable the Save changes as draft first collection setting (see the section above for steps). Go to the Permissions & privacy collection settings: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Click More Actions at the top and select Permissions & privacy . Select the relevant checkboxes in the Site visitor permissions table to choose what visitors can view, add, update and delete on your live site. (Optional) Set different permissions for specific collaborator roles: Click + Set permissions for specific roles at the bottom of the Collaborators & specific roles permissions table. Select the relevant CMS access roles. Click Done . Select the relevant checkboxes in the Collaborators & specific roles permissions table to choose what team members and collaborators can access: View: Team members with the role can view items in this collection. Create & edit drafts: Team members with the role can create, edit and delete draft items in this collection. Publish: Team members with the role can publish or unpublish items in this collection. Delete: Team members with the role can delete items in this collection. Click Save . Previewing an item before publishing Before you publish a draft or changed item, you can preview how it looks on your dynamic item pages. The preview shows your unpublished content, so you can check the design and text without changing your live site. You can also switch to the live version to compare the two. Notes: Dynamic item page required: Your collection must be connected to a dynamic item page . If it is not, Preview item is unavailable. Draft items: For items that have never been published, you can only view the Edited version . To preview an item: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Hover over the relevant item and click Open . Click the More Actions icon at the top right and select Preview item . Check your item using the options at the top of the preview: Preview on: Select the dynamic item page you want to preview the item on. Edited version: View the item with your unpublished changes. Live version: View the item as it currently appears on your live site. Click the X at the top right to close the item preview. Updating the status of draft and changed items Once Save changes as draft first is on, the items you add or edit are saved as drafts instead of going live. With the relevant permissions, you can then review and publish the draft items to update them on your live site. Alternatively, you can revert changed items to their live version or unpublish an item to remove it completely from your live site. To update an item's status: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Add or edit a collection item. Note: The item status updates. New items are saved as Draft , and edits to live items are saved as Changed over the published version. Update the item's status: Click the status for the relevant item. Choose the relevant option: Publish item: Allow the updated item to appear on your live site. Tip: Learn more about connecting elements to your collection items to make them appear on your live site. Revert to live version: Revert the item in your collection to the version that is on your live site. Unpublish: Remove the item from your live site and revert it to the Draft status. Updating the status of multiple items at once When you have several items to review, you can select them together and update their status in one action, instead of item by item. The same permissions apply as when you update items one by one, so you need Publish permissions to publish or unpublish content in the collection. Note: Available options: You only see the options that apply to the items you select. If you select items that are all in the Draft status, only Publish selected items appears. If your selection mixes statuses, you see every option that applies to at least one of the selected items, and any item an option does not apply to keeps its current status. To update the status of multiple items: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Hover over each item you want to update and select its checkbox. Note: Change Status isn't available when every item is selected. Select only the items you want to update. Click Change Status at the top of the table. Choose the relevant option: Publish selected items: Allow the selected items to appear on your live site. Tip: Learn more about connecting elements to your collection items to make them appear on your live site. Revert to live version: Revert the selected items in your collection to the versions that are on your live site. Click Revert to confirm. Any unpublished changes in those items are lost. Unpublish selected items: Remove the selected items from your live site and revert them to the Draft status. If any of the selected items have both a live version and unpublished edits, choose which version to keep as the draft: Keep latest edits or Keep live versions . Scheduling item status changes Schedule items to go live or return to Draft at a date and time you choose. For example, prepare an item ahead of time and schedule it to go live on launch day, or schedule a seasonal item to return to Draft when the season ends. You can schedule one item at a time or several items at once. Important: We are releasing scheduling gradually, so it is not available to all users yet. Notes: Publish permissions: You need Publish permissions to schedule items. Team members without them can see that an item is scheduled, but can't change the schedule. Time zone: The date and time are based on your computer's time zone, not your site's time zone. New items: Save a new item before you schedule it. Calendar icon: Scheduled items show a Calendar icon next to their status. Hover over the icon to see when the status changes. Wix app: You can't schedule items from the Wix app in collections set to Save changes as draft first . To schedule a status change for an item: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Click the status for the relevant item and select Set Schedule . Tip: You can also hover over the item and click Open , then click the arrow next to Save & Publish at the top right and select Set Schedule . Select a date in the calendar and enter the time in the Time field. Click the option that appears. It depends on the item's current status: Schedule 'Published': Publish a Draft or Changed item, with its latest edits, at the time you set. Schedule 'Draft': Remove a Published item from your live site and set it to Draft at the time you set. Notes: Which items change: Each option applies only to the selected items it fits. The other selected items keep their current status. Items already scheduled: Items scheduled for the same change move to the new date and time. Items scheduled for the opposite change keep their current schedule. To schedule status changes for multiple items: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Hover over each item you want to schedule and select its checkbox. Click Change Status at the top of the table. Select the relevant option: Schedule 'Published': Publish the selected Draft and Changed items, with their latest edits, at the time you set. Schedule 'Draft': Remove the selected Published and Changed items from your live site and set them to Draft at the time you set. Select a date in the calendar and enter the time in the Time field. Click Schedule 'Published' or Schedule 'Draft' . Note: One item at a time: You can change or remove a schedule for one item at a time, not for several items at once. To change or remove a schedule: Go to CMS in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant collection. Click the status for the scheduled item and select Set Schedule . Tip: You can also hover over the item and click Open , then click the arrow next to Save & Publish at the top right and select Set Schedule . Choose what you want to do: Change the schedule: Select a new date and time, then click Reschedule 'Published' or Reschedule 'Draft' . Remove the schedule: Click Remove Scheduling . FAQs Click below to learn more about saving changes as drafts before publishing. How do I check an item's unpublished changes before publishing? Open the item, click the More Actions icon and select Preview item . The preview shows the unpublished version on your dynamic item pages. Use the Edited version and Live version options at the top to compare it with your live site. Learn more about previewing an item before publishing . Note: Your editor's preview mode displays the live versions of your collection items. Go to your collection to view the item drafts and unpublished changes. What can I do without publishing permissions? If you have Create & edit drafts permissions, you can add, edit, and delete draft items in the collection. New items are saved as Draft , and your edits to published items are saved as Changed . You can’t publish them yourself. Someone with Publish permissions can then publish your changes. What happens if I switch my collection's 'Enable drafts' settings? Once you've selected Save changes as draft first , changing the setting affects your unpublished changes: Turning off the 'Enable drafts' toggle: Every item in the collection becomes published. Any drafts and unpublished changes are published to your live site. Switching to 'Publish changes immediately': Any unpublished changes in the collection are published to your live site immediately. Is 'Save changes as draft first' available for all collection types? This collection setting is available only for CMS collections that you create. Other Wix app collections do not have the Enable drafts setting. How do I review changed items before they go live? Admins, or collaborators with publishing permission, decide what happens to changed items. In your collection, find items with the Changed status. Open the item and select Preview item from the More Actions menu to compare the edited version with the live version. Click the Status field for the relevant item and choose an option: Publish item: Allow the updated item to appear on your live site. Tip: Learn more about connecting elements to your collection items to make them appear on your live site. Revert to live version: Revert the item in your collection to the version that is on your live site. Unpublish: Remove the item from your live site and revert it to the Draft status. What happens if I edit an item after I schedule it? The scheduled change uses your latest edits. If the item is scheduled to be published, your latest edits go live at the time you set. If a published item is scheduled to change to Draft , it's removed from your live site at that time, and your latest edits are kept as the draft. This is different from unpublishing several items at once , where you choose whether to keep the latest edits or the live versions. What happens if I publish or unpublish a scheduled item myself? Your schedule stays in place. For example, if an item is scheduled to be published tomorrow and you publish it now, then unpublish it, it still goes live tomorrow. To stop the scheduled change, remove the schedule . This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ Previous Next Need An AI Run Website? Contact Us Today! Submit

- Wix Payments: Failed Payout | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Accepting payments on your site Wix Payments: Failed Payout Payouts from Wix Payments are automatically transferred to your bank account on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. When a payout does not reach your bank account, it appears in your Payouts dashboard as Failed . The payout - along with any other funds that have finished processing - are then placed On Hold until the issue blocking your payout is identified and resolved. Once the issue is resolved, the funds will be included in your next scheduled payout. There are many reasons why a payout may fail, such as incorrect bank account details, or even your bank changing ownership. Click on the payout in your Wix Payments dashboard to see any known details about the failed transaction. You will be able to see the issue and we’ll provide you with instructions on how to resolve it. Here's an example: Tip: You can also get information about the failed payout by clicking Payouts on Hold . The amount on hold includes your failed payout, plus any other available funds that cannot be sent to your bank because of the issue. To help avoid payout failures, we recommend following our troubleshooting steps below. Step 1 | Verify the bank details associated with your Wix Payments account Make sure that you've registered your bank account details correctly; the bank account holder's name must match the name of the Wix Payments account owner. For example, if you've registered to Wix Payments under Lisa Harrison but the associated bank account is listed as "Lisa's Cupcakes", the transfer will fail. To verify the bank details: Go to Accept Payments in your site's dashboard. Click Manage next to Wix Payments. Click Edit Account Details next to Account Details. Check the information listed under Bank Details . If necessary, correct it and click Resubmit . Step 2 | Verify that your bank account can receive EFT payments Wix Payments sends payouts to your bank account as EFT payments (Electronic Funds Transfer). If you're located in the United States, the payouts are sent as ACH transfers. If you have a failed payout, you should verify with your bank that your account can receive such a transfer. If your account cannot receive EFT payments, update your settings to a different bank account that can receive them. Make sure that the account details match, as described in step 1 above. To verify that your account can receive EFT payments: Go to Accept Payments in your site's dashboard. Click Manage next to Wix Payments. Click Edit Account Details next to Account Details. Enter the new bank details under Bank Details and click Resubmit . As soon as your payment details are updated, and your new account details have been verified, the funds will be included in your next scheduled payout .
