< Back Promoting your site SEO (get found on Google) Understanding Preset Markups for Your Site's Pages Important: Structured data markup is an advanced topic. Wix Customer Care cannot help you with any changes to your markup or submissions of it. However, if you experience any errors, you can check out our structured data markup troubleshooting help . Need help from an SEO expert? You can hire an SEO professional from the Wix Marketplace. Structured data markup gives search engines detailed information about your page. You can add structured data markup to your site's pages to help improve your search results and ranking. By default, Wix adds preset markups to some of your site's pages when you create them. These are Wix Stores product pages, Wix Bookings services pages, Wix Blog posts, and Wix Events pages. Search engines like Google can also use markup to create rich results like article previews, product previews, and FAQs for your page's search results. Note: Adding structured data markup to your site's pages does not guarantee that search engines will create rich results for them. Preset markup basics The preset markups that Wix creates for your site's pages use SEO best practices to give search engines optimized information about your pages. These preset markups also use variables to create dynamic code. Variables are pieces of text that represent a value, or text that's a placeholder for a value. Using variables, you can include information that varies from page to page based on the actual content of the page. For example, the preset markup for Wix Stores product pages uses a number of placeholder variables including: Product Name Product Description Product Brand Product Price The actual information that is used for these placeholder variables depends on the product information that is on each page. This means that the preset markup is automatically customized for each of your pages and creates unique rich results for every product. Managing your preset markups You can view and manage your preset markups in the Structured data markup section of a page type's SEO Settings . To manage your preset markups: Go to SEO & GEO in your site's dashboard. Scroll down to Tools and settings . Click SEO Settings . Select the page type that you want to edit. Note: It's not possible to customize the default markup for your main pages. You can customize markup for individual pages in the Edit by Page section or in your editor . - Customizing your Page's URL Structure in SEO Settings | Wix Expert
< Back Promoting your site SEO (get found on Google) Customizing your Page's URL Structure in SEO Settings You can customize the URL structure of your Wix Stores product pages and Wix Blog posts in your SEO Settings. This can help search engines better understand the content of your pages. Important: Customizing your site's URL structure is an advanced topic. Customizing your URLs incorrectly can drastically change your site and cause issues with its search engine ranking. Before you make any changes to your site's URL structure, it's a good idea to consider if the possible risks to your site's ranking are worth the benefits of making the change. Default URL structures for your site's pages When you create a page for your site, Wix automatically creates a new URL for it. The URL is based on your site's domain and has a unique name for the page at the end of it (known as a URL slug). An example URL of this type is: "https://mystunningwebsite.com/about". Some Wix pages have a unique default URL structure. These URLs consist three parts: your site's domain, a prefix, and a URL slug based on the product's name. You can see the Wix URLs that use this format in the table below: Wix page type Default URL structure Wix Stores product https://domain.com/product-page/{product slug} Wix Blog post https://domain.com/post/{post slug} For example, Wix Stores products use the prefix "product-page". A URL for a product called "Red Wool Sweater" would look like this: "https://mystunningwebsite.com/ product-page/red-wool-sweater ". For this type of URL, you can use SEO Settings to customize the URL structure of all pages of this type, including the prefix. Using automatic redirects By default, Wix sets up automatic redirects for your site's pages when you customize the URL structure in SEO Settings. This means that if a visitor tries to use the old URL for a page on your site, they'll be automatically taken to the new URL. If you choose not to set up automatic redirects, you’ll need to manually add a group redirect in the URL Redirect Manager after you save any changes to your URL structure. Learn More Customizing your URL structure in SEO Settings Follow the steps below to customize your page's URL structure in SEO Settings. To customize your URL structure: Go to SEO & GEO in your site's dashboard. Scroll down to Tools and settings . Click SEO Settings . Select the page type that you want to edit. - Wix Stores: Dropshipping with Spocket | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Business solutions & apps Wix Stores: Dropshipping with Spocket Spocket is a dropshipping platform that connects product suppliers with store owners. After you connect your store to Spocket , choose which products you want to sell and then add them to your store. The supplier holds the inventory and takes care of the shipping for you. Step 1 | Connect to Spocket To get started, add the Spocket app to your site. Wix Editor Go to your editor . Click Add Apps on the left side of the editor. Search for the Spocket app in the search bar. Click Add to Site . Click Agree & Add . Studio Editor Go to your editor . Click App Market on the left side of the editor. Click App Market . Search for the Spocket app in the search bar. Click Add to Site . Click Agree & Add . Dashboard Go to the Wix App Market in your site's dashboard. Search for the Spocket app in the search bar. Click Add to Site . Click Agree & Add . Click Agree & Add . What happens next? An email is sent to the email address associated with your Wix account. Go to the email and click Verify my email . Step 2 | Add products to your import list Log in to Spocket and check out the search page. There you can browse and find the perfect products to add to your store. Click to add the products to your Import List. Tips: Products added to the import list do not yet appear in your Wix store. Premium products are not available with a free Spocket plan. Step 3 | Customize products and product options Before you add a product from the Import List to your Wix store, you can customize it. To start, go to the Import List tab in the Spocket dashboard. There, you can choose a product and make any customization you like. You can edit the product name, add a product to one of your Wix store categories, edit the product description to suit the tone of your brand, remove or reorder images, and more. Make sure to check out all the available tabs. Tip: Click the Variants tab to view product options. There you can deselect the checkbox next to any variants you don't want to sell. Step 4 | Add products to your Wix store Now go to your import list to add products to your Wix site. To add all the products at once, click Push All at the top of the import list. To add individual products, click Push To Store under the relevant product. Learn more about importing products to your store . Step 5 | Set pricing There are 2 ways to set pricing in Spocket. First, you can set global pricing rules. These are rules that determine your default price markup and margins for products. Learn how to set pricing rules Additionally, you can override the pricing rules by setting a specific price for a product. To do so, from the Import List, select a product and go to the Variants tab. There you can enter a Sales Price for each variant you want to edit. Important: When a price is set through a price rule, it automatically goes up or down when the supplier changes the price. We recommend using price rules to help your price margins stay consistent. When you manually edit a price, and the supplier modifies the price, you get a notification in Spocket about the change. You can then decide whether you want to change the price or leave it as is. Notes: Every product has at least one variant. When you set Global Pricing Rules, the rules won't apply to products already in your import list or active on your store. To apply the rules to these products, you can remove them from your import list and re-add them. Step 6 | Set up shipping In the search page, you can view the supplier's basic shipping price. Click the product image to view more information on shipping times and charges to different destinations. Suppliers' shipping rates do not automatically sync with your Wix store, so you'll need to create shipping rules in your Wix dashboard. You may want to charge for shipping or increase the product price so that it covers the shipping cost and then offer free shipping - the choice is yours. You can use the supplier's rates and destinations to help guide you. Wix Stores lets you create multiple delivery profiles for different groups of products. For example, you can create one profile for dropshipping products and another for products you ship yourself. This allows you to set different shipping rates for each group. Learn more about creating delivery profiles . To set shipping rules, head over to your Wix dashboard. Learn more about setting up shipping rules . Step 7 | Pay for Spocket orders After you make a sale of a Spocket product, you need to pay the supplier for the order to set the fulfillment process in motion. To pay for Spocket products so they can be shipped: Go to the My Orders tab in the Spocket dashboard. Select the relevant order. Click Checkout . Click Place Order . Learn more about paying for Spocket orders . FAQs Click a question below to learn more about Spocket. What happens after I complete payment? A shipping confirmation email including the tracking number is sent to your customer. Note: Sending shipping confirmation emails when an order is fulfilled by a third party can be disabled in the eCommerce Settings tab. The tracking number and link as well as the shipping carrier name are added automatically to the relevant order in your Wix dashboard. How do I handle an order containing my own products and Spocket products? If an order contains your own products and Spocket products, the tracking number for the Spocket shipment is added automatically. You can then fulfill the rest of the order (your products) in the regular way. Learn more about managing tracking numbers for mixed orders (dropshipping and your own products). If you want to create a website for free , SEO can help your site appear on Google and other search engines, and increasingly in AI-generated answers, when potential customers look for services like yours. Check out our complete Wix SEO guide with everything you need to know about our SEO features and capabilities, along with how you can use them to optimize your site. SEO best practices There is a set of practices aimed at improving your website's visibility in search engine results pages. Remember that SEO is an ongoing process, and results may take time to materialize. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and algorithm updates is crucial to maintaining and improving your website's search engine rankings. Below are some SEO best practices you should consider. Before you begin: Make sure that you have set your site to be found by search engines . Create quality content Let's talk about the magic ingredient—quality content. It's the key to climbing the Google ranks. If you ever find yourself wondering why you're not ranking as high as you'd like, consider taking another look at your list of target keywords. Put yourself in your customer's shoes and ask, "What would one of my customers type into Google when looking for a business like mine?" Content is at the heart of SEO. Create high-quality content that not only incorporates your target keywords but also provides valuable information, answers questions, and engages your audience. For example, make sure your products or services have clear descriptions, and write engaging blog posts. Consistency in content creation is essential for building authority. Google tends to favor sites that are well-written and frequently updated content. Regularly publishing blog posts, ones that your target audience will enjoy or find informative, is a very effective way of doing so. It helps attract and engage your target audience and get links (backlinks) to your site from relevant or reputable sites. This improves your online reputation and credibility, increasing your chances of ranking higher in search results. Learn how to create a free bio website. Research keywords Conduct thorough research to identify the most relevant and valuable keywords for your website. Understanding what terms your target audience uses will guide you in creating content that aligns with their interests and needs. Use Wix's keyword research tool integration to discover descriptive and intricate keyword strings, ensuring your content addresses the depth and complexity of user search queries, moving beyond basic terms like 'shoes'. It can help you discover valuable keywords that strike a balance between search volume and competition. Remember, the strategic use of long-tail keywords, which are longer and more specific keyword phrases, can significantly boost your online visibility and engagement. For example, instead of targeting the broad keyword 'shoes,' you could use a long-tail keyword like 'best running shoes for flat feet.' This caters to a more specific audience looking for precisely what your site offers. Long-tail keywords allow your site's content to align more closely with the unique queries that users enter into search engines. This, in turn, increases the likelihood of your site appearing in relevant search results and attracting highly targeted traffic. Add keywords to your site's pages It's not just about having keywords; it's about using them thoughtfully. Take a look through your website and make sure you've sprinkled those keywords where they belong. That means in your headlines, body text and more. The trick is to make it all sound natural, like a friendly conversation with your visitors. Remember, keywords should be optimized at the page level, not the site level. Each page can and should be tailored to different keywords within a related topic. It's not about repeating the same word excessively but ensuring that each page thoroughly explores a specific topic or keyword to enhance its relevance and user experience. Optimize on-page SEO Optimize on-page elements like title tags, meta descriptions, headers, and URLs with your chosen keywords. These elements provide search engines with valuable context about your content, making it easier for them to rank your pages in search results. Use the Wix SEO Assistant to help you optimize your site's pages for search engines and learn how to optimize your site's content for SEO . Understand the technical SEO aspects Technical aspects, such as creating an XML sitemap, using robots.txt to guide search engine crawlers, fixing broken links, and implementing HTTPS for security, are foundational to a well-optimized website. Wix built-in features ensure your site comes with an optimized sitemap and robots.txt file right out of the box, so you don't have to do any optimization yourself. It also includes automatic redirects to help prevent broken links right from the start. Learn more about your site's sitemap file . Ensure a good user experience (UX) An intuitive and user-friendly website design, easy navigation, and a logical site structure enhance the user experience. Google rewards websites that prioritize user satisfaction with higher rankings. Update your business information (for local businesses) For businesses with physical locations, optimizing your Google My Business listing and maintaining consistent business information (Name, Address, Phone Number) across the web is crucial for local search visibility. You can manage your Google Business Profile details in your Wix account. Update your photos to showcase new goods and services, or update your opening hours and contacts details. When you edit your profile information on Wix, the changes are also saved in your Google Business Profile. Learn more about Google Business Profile . With the increasing use of mobile devices for browsing, Google prioritizes mobile-friendly websites in its rankings. Just remember to publish your site after making any edits or changes. - About Domain Privacy and Protection | Wix Expert
< Back Need more help? About Wix About Domain Privacy and Protection All registered domains are listed in the WHOIS database . Searching for a domain in the database allows you to view information such as the domain's registration and expiry dates, who owns the domain, and the owner's contact information. Wix offers over 400 top-level domain (TLD) extensions for you to purchase. See the full available TLDs list . When you buy a new domain from Wix , or transfer your domain to your Wix account, you can choose to purchase additional privacy and domain protection. Wix offers the following levels of protection for your personal information and domain security: Public registration, Private registration, or Private registration and DNSSEC. Important: The information in this article only applies to you when Wix is your registrar. If your domain is registered under a different registrar, even if purchased with Wix as a reseller, other terms may apply to you. Public registration Selecting Public registration when buying or transferring your domain means that your personal information is available on WHOIS. Some information is not publicly listed, however. As your registrar, Wix automatically lists an alternative email address (e.g. example.com@wix-domains.com) and phone number instead of your personal information. To help minimize spam, anyone trying to get in touch with you will be referred to a dedicated online contact form instead (with the exception of ICANN, the domain regulatory body). Your other personal and contact information is publicly available. To protect your domain security and personal info, you can purchase additional protection such as private domain registration or DNSSEC. Users in the EU are entitled to have some of their contact details hidden in accordance with GDPR. The generic phone number and email are currently only available for newly purchased or newly transferred domains. Domains that were previously purchased or transferred appear in WHOIS with all personal information, including your phone number and email. Private registration Selecting Private registration (with Wix as your registrar) allows you to keep your personal information private. With this option, all of your personal details are replaced with Wix's details and are not available in the public WHOIS database. Similar to public registration, Wix lists an alternative email address (e.g. example.com@wix-domains.com) and phone number instead of your personal information. To help minimize spam, anyone trying to get in touch with you will be referred to a dedicated online contact form instead (with the exception of ICANN, the domain regulatory body). You can temporarily turn off private registration for your Wix domain whenever you need (for example, if you wish to transfer the domain to another registrar). Already purchased a domain? If you have already purchased or transferred your domain to Wix, you can add privacy protection by manually extending your domain registration for at least an additional year. Learn more about activating private registration for a Wix domain . Private registration safeguards you against: Identity theft Just as you may protect your banking information, address, or phone number, it is also important to keep other personal information private. Private registration helps to protect against malicious attacks that seek to steal your information. Unwanted solicitations If your personal information is available on WHOIS it is also easily accessible to telemarketers, spammers, and scammers. Domain hijacking Private registration, with Wix as your registrar, helps protect against those who seek to purchase your domain name. Domain names can be very valuable and, as a result, you may be harassed with attempts to purchase your domain. Important: Private registration does not guarantee protection from spammers. Listing your personal details (e.g. email address) on your site might also put you at risk. We recommend using a contact form on your site instead of sharing your contact details. Private registration does not protect you in cases where the disclosure of your details is required under applicable law. Private registration and DNSSEC Wix offers Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) in combination with private registration for the highest level of privacy and domain protection. DNSSEC is available in all non-EU countries, and for all .com domains. Selecting Private registration and DNSSEC provides all of the protections that come with private registration, with the extra security that DNSSEC offers. DNSSEC adds a security seal to your domain, helping to prevent cyberattacks and enhancing your site’s integrity by securing your visitors' private information. When someone visits your site, DNSSEC makes sure that they are directed to the correct IP address associated with your domain name. It acts as a shield, protecting your site and your visitors from cyberattacks (such as being redirected to a malicious website). Already purchased a domain? To enable DNSSEC for your existing Wix domain, extend your domain for at least one additional year and add the Private registration and DNSSEC option to your cart. Learn more about activating DNSSEC for your Wix Domain . Users in the EU In accordance with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) rules, the personal details of users located in the EU do not appear in the public WHOIS records. An alternative email address (e.g. example.com@wix-domains.com) and telephone number replace EU users' contact details, and they refer anyone trying to get in touch with them to a dedicated online contact form instead (with the exception of ICANN, the domain regulatory body). The only information that appears publicly about users in the EU is their country, state/province, and organization. EU users who opt for private registration will have all of their personal details hidden in the public WHOIS database. Note: Personal information, such a name, address, and email, may still be disclosed to third parties with legitimate interest (which is determined by the domain registrar) or as otherwise required under applicable law. Top level domain endings (TLDs) that don't support private registration The following top-level domain endings do not currently support private registration. ai at be ca ch cl co.at co.in co.il co.uk com.au com.br com.mx de es firm.in fr gen.in gg in ind.in is it london mx net.in nl or.at org.in si tokyo uk This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that!
