Wix Restaurants: Setting Up Order Scheduling in Wix Restaurant Orders
Customize your scheduling settings based on your business needs—whether that's allowing immediate orders, customers to schedule ahead, or requiring advance notice for larger preparations. You can also limit the number of orders your restaurant can fulfill (e.g. per 15-minute block or during peak hours).

What scheduling options are right for my business?
If you run a restaurant, food truck or ghost kitchen that prepares food on demand, you can choose between "ASAP only" or "ASAP or scheduled for later". The difference is whether you want to offer customers the ability to order for later as well as ASAP.
For pre-order businesses like catering, meal prep, bakeries, and home cooks, you can use "lead time" or "weekly cutoff". "Lead time" lets you set the minimum and maximum time customers can order in advance. “Weekly cutoff,” on the other hand, requires orders to be placed by a specific cutoff day and time for fulfillment on set weekdays.
Setting up ASAP and scheduled orders
Allow customers to receive their orders immediately or schedule them for later. Preparation times determine the expected pickup or delivery time, and for deliveries, this includes the estimated delivery duration.
After you save your scheduling rules, a read-only Available for ASAP orders column appears on the fulfillment hours pages for pickup, delivery, and dine-in. This column shows the actual first and last times customers can place ASAP orders based on your fulfillment hours and preparation time. For delivery, the delivery time for the relevant delivery area is also included in the calculation.
You can also set how far in advance customers may place an order—any dates beyond your chosen limit will be disabled on your site.
Important:
The prep-time and delivery-time buffer applies only to ASAP orders. Schedule for later and preorder pickers use your literal opening and closing hours.
How do customers see this on my live site?
Example: In the fulfillment picker, customers see 2 choices of when to receive their orders: “in 30 minutes” or “Schedule for later.” Customers can get their order in 30 minutes because the preparation time was set to 30 minutes.

Setting up ASAP orders
Allow customers to place orders only for immediate fulfillment. With ASAP orders, customers can pick up their order or receive delivery as soon as possible, without the option to schedule for later.
After you save your scheduling rules, you can check the read-only Available for ASAP orders column on the fulfillment hours pages to see the actual first and last times customers can place ASAP orders.
Important:
The prep-time and delivery-time buffer applies only to ASAP orders. Schedule for later and preorder pickers use your literal opening and closing hours.

Setting up preorders only
Allow customers to place scheduled orders only, according to your needs for advanced notice. You may want to set a time range in which customers are able pre-order (e.g. between 30 to 10 days in advance). Alternatively, you can set a weekly deadline for placing orders.
How do customers see this on my live site?
Example: In the fulfillment picker, customers see dates starting from 2 days from now, as determined by the minimum lead time. The pickup options are displayed in 4-hour windows, reflecting the pickup and delivery window length that was set. The last window of the day is only 3 hours, because the user’s pickup hours end at 7:00 PM.

To set up preorders:
Dashboard
Go to Restaurant Orders Settings in your site's dashboard.
Click Order Scheduling in the Scheduling and Availability section.
(If relevant) Click the Order Scheduling drop-down and select the relevant ordering page.
Select Preorder only.
Set up Scheduling rules:
Set lead time: Define a range of time in advance within which customers can place orders.
Note: Days are calculated as 24-hour periods, not business days.
Set weekly cutoff: Set a "deadline" for orders each week (e.g. Wednesdays at noon). If customers try to order after this deadline, they would only be able to order for the following week.
How long are the windows for pickup or delivery? Enter the pickup / delivery window. By default, customers can choose a 1-hour window (e.g., 12 PM–1 PM), but you can adjust this from 15 minutes up to 24 hours.
Note: If your work hours don't split evenly into the time windows (like 2-hour windows in a 9-hour day), the last time slot might be shorter (only 1 hour long).
(Optional) Set your order Capacity limits:
Enable the Limit daily pickup and delivery orders toggle.
Define the order limit per day.
(Optional) Apply limits on specific weekdays:
Select the checkbox next to Apply limits on specific weekdays.
Choose days / hours within your pickup and delivery schedule.

FAQs
Click a question to learn more about setting up order scheduling.
Can I set scheduling differently for different menus?
Currently, it is not possible as all menus follow the same scheduling settings.
Where do I set my hours?
Hours are set per fulfillment method, in pickup and delivery. Your hours can be different for pickup and for each delivery area. Customers have to select pickup or delivery and enter their address (thus determining their delivery area) before they can select a date and time. Customers can select fulfillment times that occur during your pickup or delivery hours and fit your scheduling rules.
How is the estimated delivery time determined in the fulfillment picker?
Each delivery area has its own set delivery time. When the customer enters their address, the delivery time of the relevant area is added to the preparation time. For example, if the preparation time is 30 minutes, and the delivery time for the customer’s delivery area is 15 minutes, then the time estimate shown is 45 minutes.
When can the earliest and latest ASAP orders be placed?
You can see the earliest and latest ASAP ordering times in the read-only Available for ASAP orders column on your pickup, delivery, and dine-in fulfillment hours pages. This is the live in-product preview of when customers can place ASAP orders based on your fulfillment hours and order prep time. For delivery, the delivery time for the relevant delivery area is also included.
For example, if there is a 30-minute order prep time and pickup hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, customers can place ASAP orders from 7:30 AM until 7:30 PM. Similarly, if you have a designated delivery area such as “Nearby Deliveries” with delivery hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and a delivery time of 10 minutes, and the order prep time is 30 minutes, customers can place ASAP orders from 7:20 AM until 7:20 PM.
