Wix Restaurants: Adding Your Restaurant Tables

The Wix Table Reservations app allows guests to book tables online based on your restaurant’s availability, helping you manage seating. You can add, remove, or update tables, combine them for larger parties, and set up table assignment for experiences.

• Automatic mode:

  • Reservations are assigned automatically to available tables based on guest preferences.

  • Saves staff time by handling table assignments seamlessly in real time.

  • Ideal for smaller or casual restaurants with high reservation volumes.

• Manual mode:

  • Staff can assign tables based on preferences, priorities, or specific seating arrangements.

  • Guests can still book reservations even when all tables are marked as unavailable.

  • Perfect for restaurants that need flexibility or handle custom seating requests (e.g., special occasions or VIPs).

You can choose to automatically or manually assign tables. With automatic assignment, tables are booked at the selected time. With manual assignment, staff can assign tables as needed, and guests can still make reservations, even if no tables are available.

Adding your tables

Add tables, set the number of seats, and decide if they’re available for online booking. Choose between automatic or manual table assignment.

With manual assignment, guests can make reservations even if no tables are available, and you can assign tables according to your preferences.

Tip:

If you want to create a visual floor plan, we recommend creating tables in the floor plan itself, rather than in Table management settings.

To add your tables:

Dashboard

1. Go to Table Reservations in your site's dashboard.

2. Click Settings at the top right.

3. Click Table management.

4. Click the Use tables to manage reservations toggle to assign tables, set availability, and manage the floor plan:

   • Disabled: Tables and floor plans are hidden but saved.

   • Enabled: Choose to assign tables automatically or manually for reservations:

Manually assign tables

Staff manually assigns tables; online reservations can still be made even if no tables are available.

1. Select Manually assign tables according to your needs.

2. Click + Add Table and add your tables:

   • Table name: Enter a name for this table (e.g. small table, big table, bar seats).

   • Number of seats (min-max): Set the minimum and maximum number of seats at this table.

3. Click Save at the top right.

Wix app

1. Go to your site in the Wix app.

2. Tap Manage

   

   at the bottom.

3. Tap Table Reservations and select Table Reservations.

4. Tap the More Actions icon

Adding table combinations

The Wix Table Reservations app lets you combine multiple tables to accommodate larger parties and optimize seating capacity. You can also decide whether each table combination is available for guests to book online.

To add table combinations:

Dashboard

1. Go to Table Reservations in your site's dashboard.

2. Click Settings at the top right.

3. Click Table management.

4. Click the Table Combinations tab.

5. Click + Add Table Combination and combine your tables:

   • Table combination: Select the tables you want to combine.

   • Number of seats (min-max): Adjust the minimum and maximum number of seats available at this table.

   • Available online: Allows guests to make reservations online.

     Note: The option to select / deselect this checkbox is only available when automatically assign tables for reservations.

6. When ready, click Save.

Wix app

1. Go to your site in the Wix app.

2. Tap Manage

     Note: The option to select / deselect this checkbox is only available when automatically assign tables for reservations.

9. When ready, tap Save.

Setting up table assignment for experiences

Set up table assignment to control which tables can be used for an experience and how reservations are assigned. This helps you decide whether an experience can use any online table or only specific tables and table combinations.

Important:

Table assignment for experiences is only available when Table Management is enabled in your Table Reservations settings. If Table Management is disabled, the Table assignment setting appears as read-only in the experience setup.

To set up table assignment for experiences:

This feature is currently only available on desktop.

1. Go to Experiences in your site's dashboard.

2. Hover over the relevant experience and click Edit.

3. Click Table assignment.

4. Set up the table assignment options:

   • Table connection: Choose how tables are connected to the experience:

     • No tables: The experience does not require table assignment. No tables are linked to this experience.

     • Any online table: Any table that is marked as available online can be assigned to experience reservations.

     • Specific tables: Only the tables and table combinations you select are assigned to this experience.

       Note: This overrides the individual table's 'available online' setting for the selected tables during the experience schedule.

       • Block regular reservations for selected tables: Enable/disable the toggle to choose whether standard online reservations are blocked for the selected tables:

         • Enabled: Standard online reservations are blocked for the selected tables during the experience time and the turn time before it.

         • Disabled: Standard online reservations remain available for the selected tables.

   • Assign mode: Choose how tables are assigned to experience reservations:

     • Automatic: Tables are assigned automatically based on availability.

     • Manual: Staff assigns tables to experience reservations manually.

       Note: Assign mode follows the default setting in your location's Table Management settings, but you can change it for each experience.

5. Click Save.

Can I automatically assign tables and still allow reservations if no tables are available?

Yes. Select "Manual for large parties only" under the Approval mode section, then choose the "Allow large party requests even if no tables are available" checkbox.

How can I duplicate a table in the Wix Table Reservations app?

Save time by duplicating existing tables and then editing their details. To duplicate a table, hover over the relevant table and click the Duplicate icon
