Wix Mobile Apps: Choosing Your Preferred App for Your Members

Wix provides free member apps for your site: Spaces by Wix or Fit by Wix. These apps enable your members to interact with your business; a place where they can purchase products, sign up for services and more.

You can choose which app you want your members to download depending on which suits your needs best.

If you want to create a more personalized experience, you can build your own native app. This option requires a Mobile App Premium plan. If you create your own app and it is live in the app store, it automatically becomes your preferred app.

Choosing your preferred member app

Choose your preferred app from your site's dashboard or the Wix app.

To choose your preferred app:

Dashboard

Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.
Click Settings at the top right.
Click the relevant member app tab (e.g. Spaces by Wix app, Fit by Wix app).
Click Choose App next to Mobile app preference.
Select the mobile app that you would prefer your members to use.
Click Save.

Wix app

Go to your site in the Wix app.
Tap Manage
at the bottom.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap the More Actions icon
at the top.
Tap Manage app settings.
Tap App preference and select the mobile app that you want your members to use.
Tap Save.

Who can set the preferred member app?

Only site owners can choose the preferred app, collaborators cannot.

What happens if I change my preferred member app?

Any content you've added to the previous app appears in the new app, but you can customize it and move things around as needed.

Your members have the option to use the new app or continue using the previous app. Your updates continue to be sent to whichever app your members use.

Why don't I see my own native app as an option when choosing my preferred member app?

You can only set your own app as the preferred member app once it is live in app stores. Until then, your members can use another member app (Spaces by Wix or Fit by Wix).

What happens to my member app once my own app is live in app stores?

Once you switch apps, your members are encouraged to download your own native mobile app for the best visitor experience. However, anyone who continues to use another member app (Spaces by Wix or Fit by Wix) will still see content updates.
