Wix Mobile Apps: Adding Restaurants Widgets on the Wix Member Apps

Give your diners a quick way to order food or book a table right from your member app ( Spaces by Wix or your own app). Add restaurant orders and table reservations widgets so customers can place orders, reserve a table, and stay connected to your restaurant from their phone.

Displaying your Restaurants widgets

Depending on the Restaurants app(s) you're using, you can add widgets that let customers order from your menu, as well as reserve a table. Choose a title for the widget that fits your tone and voice, decide where to place the widget, and control whether it appears on Android, iOS, or both.

Note:

While you can add the Restaurant orders and Table reservations elements from desktop, you edit their appearance from the Wix mobile app (see the Wix app tab).

To display your Restaurants widgets:

Desktop

Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.
Click the relevant tab (e.g. Spaces by Wix app, Your own mobile app).
Click Edit Mobile App.
Click the Screen dropdown at the top and choose the screen you want to edit.
1. Click Elements on the left.
2. Select the Restaurants category under Add Elements.
3. Click the element you want to add: Restaurant orders or Table reservations.
4. Edit the element on the right panel of your screen. Note: The details you can edit depend on the element you add.
(Optional) Move the element up or down on your screen:
1. Click the element you just added.
2. Click the Move Up
  or Move Down
  icon.
Choose what to do next:
- Customize the element: Go to the Wix mobile app to change the element's title, margins, visibility (i.e. iOS, Android or both) and more.
- Publish without customizing the element: Click Publish at the top right.

Wix app

Go to your site in the Wix app.
Tap Manage
at the bottom.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap Edit.
Tap the Screen dropdown at the top and choose the screen in which you want to place the widget.
Tap + Add Element.
Tap Restaurant / Table reservations at the top.
Tap the element you want to add:

Restaurants Orders (New)

Help diners place online orders directly from your member app, using the same menus and online ordering flow they know from your site.

Edit the following details:
- Element title: Enable the toggle to show a title at the top of the element. Then enter the text you want to use.
- Margins: Drag the sliders to set the Top and Bottom margins (increasing or decreasing the space between the element and other elements).
- General settings:
  - Visibility: Choose which devices you want to show these elements: Android, iOS, or All.
  - Location: Move the element to another screen than the one you originally chose.
Tap Add at the top right.

Table Reservations

Make it easy for diners to reserve a table without calling the restaurant, straight from your member app.

Edit the following details:
- Element subtitle: Enable the toggle to show a subtitle with instructions right below the element's title.
- Element title: Enable the toggle to show a title at the top of the element. Then enter the text you want to use.
- Margins: Drag the sliders to set the Top and Bottom margins (increasing or decreasing the space between the element and other elements).
- General settings:
  - Visibility: Choose which devices you want to show these elements: Android, iOS, or All.
  - Location: Move the element to another screen than the one you originally chose.
Tap Add at the top right.

Can I move widgets from one screen to another?

Yes. Once you add a widget, you can move it to another screen. Here's how:

Tap the Screen dropdown at the top and select the relevant screen.
Tap the Edit icon
at the top right of the element.
Tap Customize element.
Tap the Choose screen dropdown under Location and select which screen you want the element to appear on.
Tap Save at the top right.

How do I customize an existing widget?

Go to your site in the Wix app.
Tap Manage
at the bottom.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap Edit.
Tap the Screen dropdown at the top and select the relevant screen.
Tap the Edit icon
at the top right of an existing element.
Tap Customize element.
Edit the element and tap Save at the top right.

Can I delete a widget?

Yes. Once you delete a widget, you are still able to add the same element again, but any customizations made will need to be reapplied.

Go to your site in the Wix app.
Tap Manage
at the bottom.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap Edit.
Tap the Screen dropdown at the top and select the relevant screen.
Tap the Edit icon
at the top right of the element.
Tap Delete element.
Tap Delete element to confirm.

How do I add the same widget to 2 different screens?

You can duplicate a widget and move that duplicate to another screen.

Go to your site in the Wix app.
Tap Manage
at the bottom.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap Edit.
Tap the Screen dropdown at the top and select the relevant screen.
Duplicate the original element:
1. Tap the Edit icon
  at the top right of the element.
2. Tap Duplicate.
Move the duplicated element to another screen:
1. Tap Edit icon
  at the top right of the duplicated element.
2. Tap Customize element.
3. Tap the Choose screen dropdown under Location and select which screen you want the element to appear on.
4. Tap Save at the top right.

How can I change the order of my widgets?

You can move your widgets up or down in the screen to organize them.

Tap Manage
at the bottom.
Tap Mobile App.
Tap Edit.
Tap the Screen dropdown at the top and select the relevant screen.
Tap the Edit icon
at the top right of the element.
Tap the relevant option: Move up or Move down.
