Wix Mobile Apps: Adding Business Elements to Your Apps

Whether you run an online store, restaurant, or a booking service, you can add business elements to your app to enhance your client's experience.

For example, if you run a booking-based business, add an element that lists all of your services. This way, clients can easily see and book them directly through your app.

Adding business elements to your app

Choose the business elements you want to include on your mobile apps. Customize the elements by renaming them, deciding which screens they appear on, and making more personalized edits.

Dashboard

1. Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.

2. Click the relevant tab (e.g. Spaces by Wix app, Your own mobile app).

3. Click Edit Mobile App.

4. Add the business element:

   1. Click the Screen drop-down at the top and choose the screen you want to edit.

   2. Click Elements on the left.

   3. Select the relevant business category under Add Elements (e.g. Store, Bookings, Events, Restaurants or Table reservations).

   4. Click the element you want to add to your screen.

   5. Edit the element on the right panel of your screen.

      Note: The details you can edit depend on the element you add.

5. Repeat step 4 to add and customize more business elements.

6. Click Save & Publish.

Note:

While you can add the Online Orders and Table Reservations elements from desktop, you edit their appearance from the Wix mobile app (see the Wix app / Wix Studio app tabs).

Wix app

1. Go to your site in the Wix app.

2. Tap Manage

   

   at the bottom.

3. Tap Mobile App.

4. (If needed) Switch to editing a different mobile app:

   1. Tap the mobile app name at the top.

   2. Tap the relevant mobile app.

      Tip: If you want to edit a different mobile app, choose the app as your preferred mobile app.

5. Tap Edit.

6. Add the business element:

   1. Tap the Screen drop-down at the top and choose the screen you want to edit.

   2. Tap + Add Element in the relevant location.

   3. Select the relevant business category under Add Elements (e.g. Store, Bookings, Events, Restaurants or Table reservations).

      Tip: Tap the Search icon

      

      to look for specific elements.

   4. Tap the element you want to add to your screen.

   5. Customize the element you select.

      Note: The details you can edit depend on the element you add.

   6. Tap Add at the top right.

      Note: Some elements are added automatically and don't require this step.

7. Repeat step 6 to add and customize more business elements.

Wix Studio app

1. Go to your site in the Wix Studio app.

2. Tap Mobile App.

3. (If needed) Switch to editing a different mobile app:

   1. Tap the mobile app name at the top.

   2. Tap the relevant mobile app.

      Tip: If you want to edit a different mobile app, choose the app as your preferred mobile app.

4. Tap Edit.

Elements for your online store

Add and customize store elements to create a smooth, on-the-go shopping experience for your customers. Add a product gallery or carousel to showcase your products exactly the way you want to. You can also let customers add filters to make browsing and buying easier.

With your own mobile app, you can tailor the experience even more by adding a wishlist element so members can save their favorite products directly from the gallery. You can also allow them to add items to their cart right from the product gallery, making the buying process as seamless as possible.

Note:

Only members of your app can save items to a wishlist.

Elements for your restaurant

Make orders and table reservations easier on the go by adding these elements to your app. The Restaurant Orders element shows your menu and allows visitors to make an order from their phone. The Table Reservations element lets visitors book tables directly through the member app.

Elements for your booking-based business

Boost your booking-based business by adding elements that give your customers quick access to their upcoming bookings and full booking history. They can schedule or reschedule sessions, view a weekly agenda, explore your full list of services, and preview upcoming sessions. This keeps your clients engaged, making it a great way to keep everyone on track and organized.

Elements for your events

Whether you're planning a party, hosting a convention, or selling tickets to a show, Wix Events helps you promote your event and manage your guest list.

Use the events carousel or events list to showcase upcoming events and customize the details displayed. Allow quick ticket purchases directly through your app, and keep guests informed by adding an event schedule element with upcoming events. You can also encourage engagement through live discussions and track participation with a list of attendees.

Can I customize my product gallery element for my app?

Yes, you can customize your product gallery to match your brand and business goals. If you are building your own native app, you have even more customization options.

To customize your product gallery element:

1. Go to your site in the Wix app.

2. Tap Manage

   

   at the bottom.

3. Tap Mobile App.

4. (If needed) Switch to editing your own mobile app:

   1. Tap the member app name at the top (e.g. Spaces by Wix App).

   2. Select Mobile App Builder.

5. Tap Edit.

6. Tap the Edit icon

   

   next to your product gallery

7. Choose what you want to customize: select the categories and features you want to display on your gallery (e.g., Wishlist or Show Add to Cart button), and adjust your image layout.

8. Tap Add at the top right of your screen.

Can I customize the button for an empty wishlist?

Note: The wishlist element is only available when building your own native mobile app.

Yes, you can customize how the images appear on your wishlist element and edit the text for the button that shows when the wishlist is empty.

To edit the button, tap the Edit icon

next to your wishlist element and tap Customize element. Enable the Show button toggle and enter your button text. Then tap Save.

How do I let customers add items to a wishlist?

Note: The wishlist element is only available when building your own native mobile app.

To let customers add items to a wishlist, enable the Wishlist toggle in your product gallery settings.

Customers can add products to their wishlist directly from your gallery and then access or remove their saved items in the wishlist element.
