Wix Billing for Site Plans
We offer Premium plans and Studio plans for sites built with Wix. Plan subscriptions have different billing cycles for you to choose from. Longer term plans offer better savings and additional benefits (e.g. a domain voucher), whereas shorter term plans give you more flexibility.
Monthly subscription: You are charged on a monthly basis.
Yearly subscription: You are charged once for the entire year.
Multi-year subscription: You are charged once every 2 or 3 years.
About renewals:
To ensure that your site remains live at all times, our plans are set to renew automatically at the end of the subscription period (monthly, yearly, or every 2 or 3 years depending on the billing cycle you choose). If you don't want your plan to renew, you can turn auto-renewal off.
Checking your plan's billing cycle
You can easily find out which subscription billing cycle you have chosen for your account, by visiting your Premium Subscriptions page.
To check the billing cycle of your subscription:
Go to Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.
Check your subscription in the Upcoming payment column.

FAQs
Click below for answers to common questions about billing cycles for site plans.
Why was my payment declined?
Transactions can be declined for many reasons. Your card may have expired, or your card may not be set up for recurring payments, for example. Your bank or payment service provider can help you to learn more. To help ensure successful payments, you can update your payment method in your Wix account at any time.
Why am I being asked to upgrade again if I’ve already purchased a plan?
Possible reasons why you might be asked to upgrade when you've already purchased a plan include:
You have more than one site: Plans can be assigned to one site at a time. You need to upgrade other sites in your account too if you want them to have premium features.
You are signed in to the wrong account: Make sure you are signed in to the account which contains your site plan. Go to this link if you are having trouble finding your account.
You are trying to use a service not covered by your site plan: Make sure that you choose a plan that includes all the services that you wish to offer. If you want to accept payments on your site, for example, you must upgrade to a plan that allows you to accept payments.
Can I change my billing cycle?
Yes. You can change your billing subscription cycle from yearly to monthly, or from monthly to yearly. Learn how to change your billing cycle.
Why did I not receive a free domain with my site plan?
With most yearly site plans, you are eligible to receive a free domain voucher. If you didn't receive the voucher, or believe it wasn't credited to your domain purchase, you may not have been eligible for one of the following reasons:
You purchased a monthly plan: The free domain voucher is offered as a gift with the purchase of selected site plans with a billing cycle of 1 year or longer. Monthly plans do not offer the free domain voucher.
You purchased your domain name before you purchased a site plan: If you purchased your domain name prior to purchasing your plan, it is not possible to apply the voucher retroactively or get a refund for the domain. If you received the voucher and already have a domain name, you can use it to get another domain name for free.
Additional Features: The free domain voucher applies to the first year of domain registration for a new domain. It does not include domain privacy or additional years of domain registration. You can still use the domain voucher to cover part of the cost while purchasing a domain with privacy or extra years of registration.
If none of the points above apply to you, please contact Customer Care and we will be happy to check the status of your voucher.
Can I get a refund for my Premium or Studio plan?
You can cancel your subscription at any time within the first 14 days and receive a full refund to your payment method. Learn more about Wix's refund policy.
Why was I charged today when my plan renews next month?
To ensure that there is no interruption to your service, we attempt to process your renewal payment before your plan's expiration date. Depending on your service or subscription, you may be charged on a monthly, annual, or 2-3 year basis.
Wix pre-date charging works as follows:
Premium or Studio site plans:
Monthly plans: Same date as the expiration date.
Yearly and multi-year plans: Up to 3 weeks prior to your plan's expiration date (anniversary of your purchase).
Third-party apps: Same date as the expiration date.
Domains: 30 days prior to the expiration date.
Business emails: 30 days prior to the expiration date.
Note: If the charge is unsuccessful, we attempt the transaction again to ensure the service continues.
I received a charge from Wix and I’m not sure what it’s for, or the amount is bigger than I thought it would be?
You can see exactly what the payment was for by checking your invoices. Learn more about viewing your invoices.
We may consolidate your recurring payments for a site plan, domain, business email, and paid apps into one charge to avoid multiple transactions. It is possible that you received a discount for your first upgrade plan purchase. Any paid service that was purchased with a discount (e.g. during a sale) renews at the standard rate.
I purchased my site subscription during a sale. What happens when the subscription is renewed?
Any paid service that was purchased during a sale renews at the standard rate.
What payment methods are accepted for Wix subscriptions?
Wix accepts a wide range of payment methods, including major cards such as VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB and Diners. Other payment methods may also be available depending on where you are located.
