Viewing and Updating Your Wix Domain Contact Information

You can keep your Wix domain's contact information up to date from the Domains page in your Wix account. Your changes are saved right away, but some updates need to be confirmed by email before they take effect (for example, changing your email address).

Important:

  • Changing your contact information locks your domain for 60 days, in which time it is not possible to transfer your domain away from Wix. Learn more about ICANN's 60-day lock policy.

  • Please see the FAQs section at the bottom of this page for important information about updating the following domains: .fr, .com.br, .com.au, .at, .it.

  1. Edit your contact information.

  2. (Optional) Use different contact information for your Technical or Administrative contacts:

    1. Deselect the Use registrant contact info checkbox below the relevant contact type.

    2. Enter the person's contact details.

  3. Click Save.

Note:

As a domain registrant owner, you are required to confirm your domain contact info within two weeks after registering the domain. If not confirmed within two weeks, the domain and any business email attached to it may go offline. In case that happens, to ensure you can still receive a confirmation email, we recommend using an email address that is not associated with your domain as your registrant contact email (e.g. gmail.com).

FAQs

Some domains have restrictions or additional requirements to consider. Click a question below to learn more about updating contact information for your domain.

Yes. When you update your domain contact information, some changes require you to confirm the update by email. When you change your contact email address, a confirmation email will be sent to both the old and new address. You'll need to confirm the change from both emails.

If you need to update your email address and you no longer have access to the old email, contact us and we'll be able to help.

You can update your contact information by downloading a form and sending it to Wix Customer Care. Learn more about updating your information for .at domains.

The process for transferring ownership of these domains requires that you contact Wix Customer Care directly. This is due to restrictions on who can use a .com.au domain. Learn more about transferring ownership of a .com.au domain.

Contact information must be updated with registro.br first. You can then notify Wix and we'll update the information in our system. Learn more about updating your information with registro.br.

To update information related to a .it domain, contact Wix Customer Care and provide us with the information you need to change in written form.

If you have a .fr domain, certain changes must go through a 15-day approval process. It is not possible to make further updates until the 15-day period has ended. This only applies to first name, last name, email address, and company information. Once the 15-day period has ended, you'll be able to make new changes to this information.
