Updating Your Payment Method for a Failed Domain Payment
Your Wix domain is set to automatically renew 30 days before the end of the subscription period. This ensures uninterrupted service and allows more time to resolve any payment issues, should they arise.
If the renewal payment is not completed by the expiration date, your domain enters a Grace Period lasting up to 30 days. Your Wix site is disconnected, and you cannot send or receive domain-based email during the Grace Period.
Note:
Some domains don’t have a grace period. These domains will enter the redemption period on the domain expiration date. Learn more about domain endings which have no Grace Period.
Updating your payment details
Update your payment details as soon as possible to reinstate your site and ensure that you keep your domain.
To update your payment details:
Go to Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.
Click Update Payment Method under the relevant domain.
Click Use another payment method and enter your card details.
Note: If you have other cards saved, you can select them from the list.
Click Submit Payment.

What happens if payment isn't made?
If payment is not made during the Grace Period, your domain enters the Redemption Period. You'll need to pay a redemption fee to retrieve your domain. The amount due is displayed in your account, and local taxes, if applicable, are added to the total on checkout.
After the Redemption Period, your domain is at risk of being purchased by someone else. For these reasons, we recommend resolving any payment issues immediately to avoid losing your domain.
Why did my payment fail?
Payments can fail for a number of reasons. For example, your card provider may decline the payment, the card information may have changed, or your card may have expired.
If you are not sure why your payment failed, contact your bank or credit card company for more information.
Where can I check the renewal date for my domain?
You can check your domain's renewal date from the Premium Subscriptions section of your Wix account.
Look for the Upcoming payment column next to the relevant domain. Click View payment details to see more information like the next payment amount.
