Removing a Domain from Your Wix Account

You can remove domains from your Wix account if they were purchased from another domain host. The domain will no longer be connected to Wix and you can continue to manage its DNS settings with your domain host.

Important:

You cannot remove a domain purchased from Wix. Only domains that were purchased elsewhere can be removed from your account.

Removing a domain from your account

Go to your domains page to remove any domains purchased elsewhere that you no longer need in your Wix account.

To remove a domain from your account:

1. Go to Domains in your Wix account.

2. Click the Domain Actions icon

   

   next to the relevant domain.

3. Select Remove from Wix.

1. Click Remove Domain.

2. If your domain is hosted elsewhere, contact your domain host and ask them to disconnect your domain from Wix's name servers or point it away from Wix's IP address.

Not seeing the remove domain option?

If you purchased your domain from Wix, you won't see the Remove from Wix option. Domains purchased from Wix cannot be removed from your account, but you can unassign the domain from your site or transfer the domain to another Wix account instead.
