Transferring domains

Important Information about Transferring Your Domain to Wix

When you transfer your domain to Wix from another registrar, Wix becomes your domain host. This means that you can manage all of the following from your Wix account:

Your domain's registration and renewal payments.
Your domain's contact information.
Your domain's DNS records (including connecting your email, pointing your domain to a different IP address, connecting subdomains etc.)

What happens to the domain registration period after I transfer it to Wix?

Domains transferred to Wix retain the time of their registration period. Any remaining time is added to the extension period you purchase during the transfer process. You won't lose any registration time you've already paid for with your previous domain registrar.

Can I connect the domain to Wix instead of transferring it?

Yes. If your domain can't be transferred, or you'd prefer to keep your domain with your current host, you can connect your domain to your Wix site instead.

Can I cancel the transfer of my domain from another registrar to Wix?

Wix cannot cancel a domain transfer once you begin the process. Please contact your current registrar if you need to cancel your domain transfer to Wix.
