Connecting Your GoDaddy Domain to Wix

If you see a popup screen with a Continue button (like in the screenshot below), Wix can connect your domain for you. You can log in to your GoDaddy account and we'll take care of the rest.

Get your log in details ready for your GoDaddy account, then click Continue. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your account and connect your domain.

What's next?

Your work is done (you don't need to complete Step 2 in this article). We'll notify you by email when your domain is connected. It may take up to 48 hours for your domain's new DNS records to propagate and your site to appear worldwide. Learn more about domain propagation.

Notes:

• Automatic domain connection is not yet available for all users.

• Not all domain providers support automatic domain connection. Learn more by checking this supported providers list.

• If your domain provider has 2-step authentication (e.g. SMS code), you'll be prompted to enter the code after you enter your email address and password.

• For some domain providers, you may be directed to a new tab to sign in to your account. If you don't see a login screen in your Wix account, check for a new tab or browser window.

1. Click go to our manual setup to begin connecting your domain manually.

   

2. Review the information on screen and click Start.

1. Log into your GoDaddy account.

   1. Open a new tab in your browser.

   2. Go to your GoDaddy account site and log in.

   3. Return to the Wix domains page.

   4. Click I logged in.

2. Find your domain settings page.

   1. Click your profile at the top right and select My Products.

      

   2. Find your domain and go to the settings panel.

   3. Click DNS to the right of your domain.

   4. Return to the Wix domains page.

   5. Click I found my domain settings.

3. Find your name servers

   1. In your GoDaddy DNS settings, click Change in the name servers section.

   2. Select Enter my own name servers (advanced)

   3. Return to the Wix domains page.

   4. Click I found the name servers.

4. Replace your name servers.

   1. In the Enter My Own Name servers section, replace your name servers with the Wix name servers provided on the Wix domains page.

      Note: The NS records may be different for you than those in the image below. Please use the NS records that you see in your domains page.

      

   2. Click I've replaced my name servers.

In the screenshot below, example name servers are entered in a GoDaddy account. These are only examples. Make sure to enter the name servers shown in your Wix account while connecting your domain.

It may take up to 48 hours for the name servers changes to propagate worldwide.

Certainly. You can transfer your domain to Wix to manage your domain's billing and contact info in your Wix account. Keep in my that transferring a domain can take up to 7 days, while connecting a domain only takes up to 48 hours. You can connect the domain, then transfer it while the connection is still in propagation.

Send these details to GoDaddy:

To whom it may concern at GoDaddy,

My name is { your name}, and I purchased the following domain from you: { your domain URL (e.g., www.mystunningwebsite.com)}. I've built a site on Wix.com and want to connect my domain to the Wix name servers. Please update the name server records in my account to these two Wix name servers { add the name servers provided (e.g., ns1.wixdns.net and ns2.wixdns.net)}.
