Changing Your Premium or Studio Plan

If you are unable to change your plan using the steps above, you can use the following workaround.

These steps are complex, so keep this page open in a separate tab for reference. To summarize, you will be cancelling your plan's auto-renewal, duplicating your site, signing up for a new plan (the one you want to change to), then applying your new subscription to your original site.

Important: Canceling your plan's auto-renewal means that your old plan will remain active until the end of the subscription period. If you cancel your plan after your 14-day refund period, both subscriptions will overlap, and you won't receive a credit for the remainder of your old plan.

1. Cancel the plan that you want to change:

   1. Go to Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.

   2. Click the More Actions icon

      

      next to the relevant plan.

   3. Click Cancel Plan.

   4. Click Cancel Now.

   5. Enter the reason for cancellation and click Cancel Now.

2. Duplicate the site that the plan is assigned to:

   1. Go to your site's dashboard.

   2. Click the Site Actions drop-down.

   3. Click Duplicate Site.

   4. Enter a name for the duplicate site.

   5. Click Duplicate.

3. Reassign the canceled plan to the duplicate site:

   1. Go to Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.

   2. Select the canceled plan.

   3. Click Assign to a different site next to Assigned to:.

   4. Click Assign next to the duplicate site.

4. Upgrade the original site to the plan of your choice:

   1. Go to the dashboard of the original site.

   2. Click Upgrade at the top of the dashboard.

   3. Click Select under the plan you want to purchase.

   4. Follow the steps to complete the purchase.

5. Assign your domain back to your original site:

   1. Go to Domains in your Wix account.

   2. Click the Domain Actions icon

      

      next to the domain you want to reassign.

   3. Click Assign to a site.

   4. Select the site you wish to assign the domain to (your original site, not the duplicate).

   5. Click Next.

   6. Click Assign.

Yes, you can change the subscription period of your current billing cycle. Learn more about changing the subscription period of your plan.

Yes. You can change to any plan with the same billing cycle, including downgrading to a lower tier plan.

When you change to another plan, we will credit you for any remaining time on your current plan. The credit from your current plan is deducted from the price of your new upgrade during the purchase process. Learn more about how credit is calculated when upgrading your plan.

Changing your plan will not affect your site. Any work you've previously done will still be there. The change will only affect the plan associated with your site.

The option to change your site plan is not available for all users. If you do not see the Change Plan button, then you will need to cancel and repurchase to get the desired plan.

Site owners and collaborators with the Admin (Co-Owner) or Billing Manager role can manage subscriptions, including changing or upgrading a site plan.

If you use custom roles, anyone with the Manage Billing permission can also manage your site plan. Learn more about managing roles and permissions.
