Note: The Pin Design tab does not affect your map's pin once you connect the map to a dataset. Use the Pin connects to drop-down in step 8 if you want to use a custom pin in your map. Important: If you have items in your collection that do not have locations in the address field you connected, the map will not display any collection items. You can resolve this issue by adding a filter to the dataset . Set the filter to the address field and the condition to Is not empty . As a result, the dataset only reads items that have a location and displays them in the map. FAQs Click below for answers to common questions about connecting Google Maps to your CMS. Can I show addresses that visitors submit on my map? Absolutely. You can add an address input element that visitors use to submit addresses to a collection. Then connect your map to a dataset that binds to the same collection. Make sure the dataset mode is set to Read & Write and that the collection permissions allow it to be viewed by the relevant people. Learn how to set the dataset mode and collection permissions . Can I display multiple addresses for the same collection item? It is not possible to connect multiple addresses from the same collection item to your map. You can connect only one address field to your map to display one location per collection item. If this is a feature you would like to see in the future, click here and vote . You can still display multiple addresses on your map, they just need to be for different collection items. If you've connected your map, but don't see all of your collection items' locations in it, check the following: Page type: Dynamic item pages only display one item at a time since the dataset filters to only include the page's dedicated item. Since you can connect only one field to the map's location, only one item can display in the map on dynamic item pages. Connect your map on a dynamic list page or another page type to show locations for multiple items. Zoom setting: You map could be zoomed in too close to see all the addresses you connected. Go to the map's settings and use the Zoom slider to adjust the default zoom level. Empty address fields: If items in your collection are missing locations in the connected address field, none of your items appear on the map. You can either add locations in the address field of each item, or add a filter to the dataset. Set the filter to the address field and the condition to Is not empty . As a result, the dataset only reads items that have a location and displays them in the map. What do the Manage Locations settings do? Once you connect the Google Maps element to a dataset, the Manage Locations settings do not affect the map. This setting is used to add locations manually if you do not connect the map to your CMS. The number of locations displayed depends on how many collection items the dataset can read. However, if you have items that do not have an address in the connected address field, the map will not display any of your item locations. Make sure to add locations in the address field for each item in the collection, or add a dataset filter. Set the filter to the address field and the condition to Is not empty . As a result, the dataset only reads items that have a location and displays them in the map. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that! - Manually Authorizing Payments and Capturing Funds Later | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Orders, Cart & Checkout Manually Authorizing Payments and Capturing Funds Later Important: This feature is available for merchants who connected Wix Payments as a payment provider. This article is relevant for Wix Stores, Wix Bookings, Wix Restaurants Orders, Wix Donations, and is in the process of becoming available for Pricing Plans. Authorize payment for any unpaid or partially paid order to make sure your customer has the means to cover the cost. When you do, the payment is approved by the customer’s payment method and the sum is held in their account, in readiness to pay, if needed. Then, before the 7-day hold on the payment comes to an end, you can capture or void the payment. Manually authorizing a payment You can use manual authorization in a number of ways. For example, if you rent out equipment, you can manually authorize a payment as a security deposit. When the equipment is returned undamaged, you can void the payment without needing to process a refund. You may also want to authorize payment before creating a custom product to ensure that your customer has the funds to pay for it - without collecting payment in advance. Tip: Authorized payments are held for 7 days. To manually authorize a payment Go to Orders in your site's dashboard. Select the relevant order. Click Collect Payment . Select Authorize a payment . Enter the amount you want to authorize. Note: It can be less than the order total. Select or deselect the Automatically capture payments before the authorization period ends checkbox: Selected: The payment is automatically sent to you at the end of the 7-day period, if you haven't taken any action before then. Deselected: The payment is automatically voided at the end of the 7-day period. This means that the hold on the payment is released from your customer's account, if you haven't taken any action. Enter the customer's card number. (Optional) With the customer's knowledge and approval, select the Save this card to the customer's file checkbox. Learn more Click Authorize . Collecting or voiding an authorized payment When you're ready, you can either capture (collect) the payment or void it. When you void a payment, the hold on the payment is released from your customer's account. Tip: It's best practice to void the authorized payment as soon as you know that you aren't planning on capturing it, so that the funds are available for your customers' use. To collect or void an authorized payment: Go to Orders in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant order. Click Collect Payment . Select an option: Capture the payment: The payment is sent to your account. Void the payment: The hold on the payment is released from your customer's account. FAQs Click a question below to learn more. Can I edit the order amount? Yes. If you need to make changes to the price of an item, or add additional items, you can edit an existing order . If you increase the order total, another payment authorization is created. Later, when you capture or void payment, you can select which payments the action applies to. I voided a payment by accident. Can I still collect payment that was held? No. Once the authorization is released, the payment that was authorized cannot be collected. You can, however, request payment using another method . This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that! Previous Next Need An AI Run Website? - Wix Automations: Adding and Setting Up Conditions | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Managing your customers Wix Automations: Adding and Setting Up Conditions Conditions add flexibility to automations by letting you set specific rules for what happens next. This means your automation can branch in different directions based on what your site or contacts do. For example, you can have the automation send an email only if the customer spends over $100. Adding a condition Adding a condition gives you control over the next steps in your automation, using details that Wix collects each time it runs. You set the criteria that matter most to you, so actions only happen when your chosen rules are met. In the THEN path, the automation flow continues only if the condition is met. In the ELSE path, you can define what happens if the condition isn’t met. To add a condition: Create a new automation or edit an existing automation . Click the Add Step icon . Click Condition . Choose how you want to set up your condition: Basic logic Click the Basic logic tab. Click the Select a property drop-down and choose the dynamic field that the automation collects when it runs (e.g. Party Size). Tip: Learn more about the property picker and all that it offers. Click the Select logic drop-down and choose an operator that will compare the received data with the value (e.g. 'is greater than'). Click the Enter value drop-down or text box that appears to set the right value (e.g. 3). Tip: Click Customize to create custom workflows using the formula field . (Optional) To add any additional criteria, click +And / +Or to choose the relationship between your criteria. Click the If this condition isn't met drop-down and choose: End flow: No action will take place if the condition isn't met. Follow Else path: Click the + to add a step under the new path that appears in your automation that will occur when the condition isn't met. Custom code Click the Custom code tab. Choose how to create your custom code: Click Edit Code to write your own Java code condition. Click Code with AI to write a prompt that describes what you want the condition to check and click Generate code . Click Save once you're happy with how the code is written. Building a condition with the property picker In the below example, we'll use the property picker to set up the condition: check if an order's payment status is equal to 'Paid' before continuing with the automation. To build a condition with the property picker: Create an automation in the new automation builder . Click the Add Step icon . Click Condition . Click the Basic logic tab. Click the Select a property field to open the property picker. Choose the property you want the condition to check from the nestable list. For our example, we want the condition to check Payment status . Tip: Hover over a property to see additional information such as the property type and an example of how to use it in your automation. Click the Select logic dropdown and choose the logic from the available data types. For our example, we want to choose the type is exactly . Finally, choose the resulting output the condition should check. For our example, we want the condition to check that the text is exactly the word Paid so we enter the word 'Paid' into the text field. Click Apply to save the condition. Continue with the rest of the automation flow including choosing an action. In our example, we added an action 'Give Loyalty Points'. Now, when an order is placed, the condition checks if the payment status is 'Paid' before continuing with the flow. Tip: You can build an Else path if you want the automation to do something different if the condition is not met. In our example, if the order is not paid, send an email reminder to pay the order. Building the logic of a condition For conditions to work effectively, make sure to select the correct operator (e.g. "is greater than", "contains") and follow the best practices described in this article. Click an option below to learn more about an operator: Text operators: Text operators are used for comparing names, labels, etc. Best practice: Use text operators for properties that are text strings, for example when a restaurant name is exactly "Paulie's Pizza". Number operators Number operators are used for comparing any numerical property, like quantities. Best practice: Use number operators for properties that will always be numbers, for example sending an email when a reservation party size is greater than 10. Date and time operators Date and time operators are used for comparing date and time properties to specific dates and times. Best practice: Use date and time operators when you're basing a condition on an exact date or time, for example contacting all customers who made a purchase this month. Array (list) operators Array operators are used to specify a list of multiple values or objects, instead of selecting just one. Best practice: Use array operators when you're including a specific list of products in your automation, for example shirts sold in your store. True/false operators True/false operators are used for comparing any boolean properties that will always be true or false. Best practice: Use true/false operators for properties that will always be one of two states, for example a checkbox that is ticked or unticked. - Wix Harmony Editor: Adding and Managing Menus | Wix Expert
< Back Using the Wix Harmony Editor Structuring your site Wix Harmony Editor: Adding and Managing Menus Menus make it easy for visitors to explore your site and discover what you offer. Choose the pages, and links that matter most to you. You decide how your menu looks and works, so navigation always feels natural — no matter what device your visitors are using. Adding a menu Menus help visitors move between pages on your site. In the Menu category of the Add Elements panel, the Horizontal, Vertical and Hamburger options all add a site menu that is connected to your site pages (i.e. new pages automatically appear on this menu). You can also add a separate custom menu for specific areas and choose whether it appears as a horizontal, vertical or hamburger menu. For example, create a custom menu for your site's footer or for a specific page that needs its own navigation. To add a menu: Go to your editor . Click + Add at the top left of the editor. Select the Menu category. Tip: Click the Arrow icon next to the categories to browse through the list. Depending on the type of menu you want to add, follow the steps below: Site menu A site menu is connected to your site's pages and updates automatically when you add a new page. You can hide pages that should not appear in the site menu and add your own links. Choose the menu type you want and drag it onto your page - Horizontal menu , Vertical menu or Hamburger menu . Click the new site menu. Click Manage Menu on the action bar. Set up your menu: Click + Add Item to add more site pages or links. Click the More Actions icon next to a menu item to rename or remove it. Hold and drag menu items to reorder the list. Tip: Learn more about adding and managing menu items . Custom menu A custom menu is separate from your site's main menu. You choose exactly which items appear on this menu, and it does not get updated when you add new site pages. You can display a custom menu as a horizontal, vertical or hamburger menu. Click Create a custom menu to add it to the page. (Optional) Switch your menu's layout: Click the new custom menu. Click Change Format on the action bar to set your menu's layout. Choose the relevant option under Menu : Menu bar: Menu items are displayed in a navigation bar. Under Orientation , choose whether the bar is horizontal or vertical. Tip: For horizontal menus, you can also choose the Item behavior when there isn’t enough room for the items on your visitor's screen — either let the menu expand ( Fit to text ) or add a button to scroll through the extra items ( Fit to scroll ). Hamburger : Visitors see an icon that they click to open the menu. This is a great option for clean, minimalistic layouts. Did you know? If you add a menu bar to your header, it automatically becomes a hamburger menu on mobile . This keeps the navigation on your site clean and tidy on smaller screens. Adding and managing menu items Once you've added the menu, choose the items you want to display. Select regular site pages, collections of app and CMS pages, or specific pages within a collection. You can also add dropdown containers and links to truly tailor the experience for your client's needs. You can always adjust an existing menu and the items it shows. Add more items, remove ones that are irrelevant, or change the order to keep the content fresh. To manage a menu: Go to your editor . Click the menu. Click Manage Menu . Choose what to do next: Add more menu items Click + Add Item at the bottom and select the item you want to add: Site pages or Link or anchor . Site pages: Add pages you want to show on the menu. Select the checkbox next to the relevant page and click Add to Menu . The panel lists regular site pages and pages from Wix apps installed on the site (e.g. a Wix Stores product page). Link or anchor: Add relevant links to the menu, like external websites, documents or ways to contact you directly. You can also link to sections and popups across your site. Change a menu item's link You can always adjust links that you've previously added to the menu. Hover over the relevant link and click the More Actions icon . Click Change link . Press the Enter key on your keyboard to save your changes. Remove an item from the menu Hover over the relevant item and click the More Actions icon . Click Remove from menu . Notes: This does not delete a page from the site - it only removes the page from the menu. If you delete a dropdown, any pages you have added to it are removed from the menu. However, you can always re-add them to the menu. Reorder menu items Hold the Reorder icon next to an item and drag it to the desired position. Adding dropdowns to your menu Use dropdowns to group related pages under a single menu item and keep your navigation easy to scan. Choose a parent item, whether it's a page or a link, and nest other pages beneath it to create the dropdown. To add and set up a dropdown: Go to your editor . Click the menu. Click Manage Menu . Decide which menu item should be the dropdown title. Move the first menu item to the dropdown: Drag the relevant menu item below the dropdown title. Hover over the item you dragged and click the More Actions icon . Select Move under "Page Name" . Repeat step 5 for all other items you want to move to the dropdown. Drag with your mouse instead: Want a quicker way to turn pages into dropdown items? Drag a page up or down, then slightly to the right until it "tucks" under another page. The GIF below shows how it should look. Changing the menu's layout A clear menu layout helps visitors quickly see where to go next. Whether your menu bar is set to vertical or horizontal, you can always drag the side handles to resize it. If you're working with a hamburger menu, read our article to learn all about customizing it. Can I add multiple menus to the header? No. To help visitors explore your site with ease, you can only add 1 menu to your site's header. If needed, you can always add custom menus to other sections. Does removing a page from the menu delete it from my site? No. When you remove a page from the menu, it only removes it as an item from that specific menu. You can re-add the page to the menu at any time. Do I have to show all of my site pages on the menu? No, you choose the pages that should be highlighted on the menu. As you can add custom menus that are separate to the site menu, they can all show different pages and items. Tip: Pages that don't appear on the menu are still accessible through a direct link. You can adjust the page's settings to hide it from search engines and / or block access with a password. How do I change the underline that appears on my menu items when I hover over them? Currently, it is not possible to customize the design for when visitors click or hover over the menu. The underline that appears when visitors hover over menu items is part of the menu’s built-in design and cannot be changed or removed. If you need more control over your navigation design, you can recreate the menu using text or button elements and add links to each one manually.
