- Wix Contacts: Creating and Managing Segments | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Managing your customers Wix Contacts: Creating and Managing Segments Use segments to organize your contacts into groups based on the details and actions that matter to your business. This helps you understand your audience and reach the right people with the right message. When someone is added to your contact list or interacts with your site, Wix stores useful contact data such as their name, email, and recent activity. You can use this data to build segments with specific filters and criteria. Creating a segment Grouping your contacts into segments helps you send more relevant messages to the right customers at the right time. You can build segments based on contact attributes or site activity, then use them for campaigns and automations. Create a segment using filters and conditional logic. First pick a filter based on either a contact attribute (city, country, email) or contact activities on your site (number of purchases, last purchased). Then choose the conditional logic for this segment. For example, you can create a segment of contacts who abandoned their cart in the last 30 days and have not made a purchase in that time. Then you can send that group a follow-up email, such as a reminder, special offer, or coupon, to encourage them to complete their purchase. Important: The logic of the filters you choose changes based on the attribute or activity. For example, the conditions for 'Birthday' will be different than the conditions for 'Email campaign open.' To create a segment: Go to Contacts in your site's dashboard. Click Manage Segments at the top right. Click + Create Segment . Choose how you want to create your segment: Select a predefined template Click Set Up next to the relevant template. (Optional) Review and edit the filters in your segment. Click Create Segment . Create a custom segment Click + Start from scratch . Add a name for your segment to help you identify it later. Click + Add a Filter to select a filter from a list. Customize your filter by choosing an attribute, condition or value. Note: The options change depending on what you select. (Optional) Click + Add a Filter below the first filter to add another filter for your segment and repeat step 4. Both filters work together to find matching contacts. Note: You can add up to 10 filters. When you're done adding filters click Create Segment . Viewing the contacts in your segments You can view the contacts in a segment from the Segments page. Click the 'No. of contacts' count next to the relevant segment to open a filtered contact list. To view the contacts in your segments: Go to Contacts in your site's dashboard. Click Manage Segments at the top of the page. Click the No. of contacts icon next to the segment you want to view. Tip: To filter your contact list by multiple segments click Filter , select Segment and choose the segments you want to include. Managing your segments From the Manage Segments page, you can view, update, and act on your segments. In the segments list, view the date and time a segment was last updated as well as the number of contacts that match the segment. To manage your segments: Go to Contacts in your site's dashboard. Click Manage Segments at the top of the page. Hover over the segment you want to manage and click the More Actions icon . Manage your segment using the available options: Send Email Campaign: Send a targeted email marketing campaign to this segment. This counts as one of your monthly campaign allowances. Note: The segment will be automatically selected in the recipients for the campaign. Create automation: Create an automation to trigger an action for this segment. Export contacts: Export this segment to create a backup of the contacts list or to copy the segment to a different platform. Edit: Update the segment's name and filters. You can also add a new filter to make the segment more specific. When you're done editing click Save Segment . Duplicate: Create a copy of the segment. You can rename the segment or add new filters to change the criteria. When you're done editing click Create Segment . Delete: Remove a segment from the list. The contacts are still saved in your contact list, but the filters are deleted. Click Delete Segment to confirm. FAQs Click a question below to learn more about creating and managing segments. How do I add new contacts to an existing segment? New contacts are automatically added to segments if they meet the segment's criteria. Use labels to manually group contacts. Can I create a segment that excludes certain contacts? Yes, you can exclude contacts from a segment by adding filters and using conditions such as ‘is not’. What happens if a contact no longer meets the criteria for a segment? If a contact no longer meets the criteria for a segment, they will be automatically removed from it. - Wix Harmony Editor: Working With Layout Guides | Wix Expert
< Back Using the Wix Harmony Editor Designing your site Wix Harmony Editor: Working With Layout Guides Layout guides help you line things up as you build your site. They give you a visual guide on the page, so it’s easier to place elements, keep spacing consistent, and create a layout that feels balanced. You can choose the guide style that works best for you, change how it looks, and decide whether it stays visible in the editor or only appears while you drag elements. Good to know: Layout guides are different from the grid used to build a section layout. Layout guides help you position elements on the page. The section grid helps you arrange content inside a section. Showing layout guides in the editor Turn on layout guides when you want more visual structure as you build your site. You can choose between columns, blocks, and dots, then decide whether the guides stay visible in the editor or only appear while you drag elements. To show the layout guides: Go to your editor . Click the Layout Guides icon at the bottom left. Choose a style for your layout guides: Columns , Blocks or Dots . Decide when you want to see the layout guides under Show Guides : Always: Display the layout guides on this page at all times. Tip: This means the layout guides appear every time you open the editor – until you choose to turn them off. On drag only: See the layout guides only when you're dragging elements around the page. (Optional) Hover over the style you chose (e.g. Columns) and click Customize to adjust the settings. Adjusting the layout guides Adjust your layout guides at any time to match the way you design. You can switch to a different guide style or update settings such as spacing, margins, color, and opacity for a more precise editing view. To adjust the layout guides: Go to your editor . Click the Layout Guides icon at the bottom left. (Optional) Click to choose a different look for your layout guides. Hover over the look you chose and click Customize to adjust the settings. Columns The guides appear as columns and rows, with possible spacing between the columns if you choose to add it. Number of columns: Enter the number of columns you want to have. Margins: Add space between the columns and the page's edges. Gaps: Set the spacing between your columns. Color and opacity: Click the color circle to choose one of your brand or custom colors, and drag the slider to make your columns more or less visible. Reset to Default: Go back to the default layout guide settings. Blocks The guides appear as rectangles that are organized into columns and rows. Spacing: Decide how much space you want in between the blocks. Margins: Add space between the squares and the edges of the page. Color and opacity: Click the color circle to choose one of your brand or custom colors, and drag the slider to make your blocks more or less visible. Color and opacity: Click the color circle to choose one of your brand or custom colors, and drag the slider to make your dots more or less visible. Reset to Default: Go back to the default layout guide settings. Disabling the layout guides Turn off layout guides if you want a cleaner editing view. You can disable them across your whole site at any time, then turn them back on again whenever you need them. To disable the layout guides: Go to your editor . Click the Layout Guides icon at the bottom left. Click None . FAQs Click a question below to learn more about layout guides. Can visitors see the layout guides on my live site? No. Layout guides are only visible in the editor and do not appear on your live site. Do layout guides apply to the whole site or just 1 page? Your layout guide settings apply to the whole site. Do layout guides help elements snap into place? Yes. When you drag an element close to a layout guide, green snap lines appear to show that the element is aligned with the guide. If you want to keep that alignment, drop the element while the snap lines are still visible. In the example below, the button is aligned with the layout guides when the mint green snap lines appear around it. Are my custom settings saved if I switch to another guide style? Yes. If you customize a guide style (e.g. Columns, Blocks, etc.), those settings are saved when you switch to another style and back again. What happens when clicking 'Reset to Default'? As you customize the layout guide settings, you can always reset to the default. This keeps the current guide style selected (e.g. Columns, Blocks, etc.) while the other settings return to their original values. Note: In 'Columns', the number of columns you chose also stays the same if you reset to default. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that!
