- Wix Capital: Understanding How Remittance Works | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Accepting payments on your site Wix Capital: Understanding How Remittance Works Before you begin: Wix Capital is currently only available to eligible merchants in the US. It is not available in Utah, Connecticut, Texas, or Virginia. Remittance is the process where Wix collects the cash advance and related fixed fee from daily Wix Payments sales. Over time, you remit the total cash advance and a fixed fee through a percentage of your daily Wix Payments sales (determined within your Wix Merchant Cash Advance Agreement). Remittance is deducted from sales only. The remittance is deducted from your daily Wix Payment sales until you’ve reached the total to remit. Collecting remittance based on how you receive funds Wix collects and calculates your daily remittance differently depending on how you receive your funds from sales. For Wix Capital users with Wix Checking Remittance is debited from the available balance shown in your Wix Checking account. Remittance is taken from all sales processed with any of the payment methods and processors under Wix Payments you’ve set up on your site. An easy way to check: If a sale shows up in your Settlement Report, it is included in your daily remittance calculation. For Wix Capital users with payouts through Wix Payments: Remittance is deducted from your payouts. Wix Payments works with several payment providers behind the scenes, including Stripe, Adyen, and PayPal. However, for technical reasons, remittance is only taken from sales processed by Stripe-based payment methods. This may include transactions such as in-person POS payments, recurring payments, and certain alternative payment methods like Klarna, as long as they are processed by Stripe. Tip: You can always see which sales are included in your remittance by clicking View details in Settlement Report for a specific day’s remittance. Remittance terminology Understanding the remittance terminology used in Wix Capital can help you navigate the process more effectively. Here are some key terms: Terminology Description Remittance The process where Wix collects the cash advance and related fixed fee from daily Wix Payments sales. Remittance rate This is a percentage of your daily Wix Payments sales that will be collected automatically until you’ve reached the total cash advance amount and fixed fee. Fixed fee The fixed fee is calculated as a specific percentage of the cash advance you requested. You’ll remit it over time along with the total cash advance amount. Total to remit This is made up of the total cash advance amount and fixed fee. Estimated remittance period This is the length of time that Wix Payments estimates it will take to collect back the cash advance and related fixed fee. It’s based on your past year’s sales and it may take more or less time than this to fully remit the total cash advance amount and fixed fee. Checking the balance remitted Remittance starts automatically and is hassle-free. If you receive payouts through Wix Payments, collection begins 3-5 business days after approval. If you use Wix Checking, remittance begins just 1 business day after your cash advance is approved. Tip: The daily remittance calculation is based on your site's time zone even if this is different from the time zone on your computer. To check the amount remitted: Go to Capital on your site dashboard. View your progress in the Cash advance section. (Optional) View the Details section on the right side to see more information about your cash advance, such as the cash advance amount, fixed fee, total to remit, and your remittance rate. Troubleshooting remittance errors If you experience a problem with your daily remittance, you may see one of the following error messages in your Capital dashboard. Debit for remittance didn’t go through This is due to a technical error with your Wix Checking account. No action is needed. Wix will automatically try to collect the remittance again on a later date. Remittance didn’t go through due to insufficient balance Make sure you have at least the required amount in your Wix Checking balance to cover remittance. We will regularly try to debit your Wix Checking account for your remittance. FAQs Click a question below to find out more information. When will remittance begin? If you use Wix Checking, remittance starts 1 day after your cash advance is approved and the funds are received in your account. If you receive payouts to a bank account, remittance starts 3-5 business days after approval, once the funds have been sent to your bank account. Where is the remittance taken from? Remittance is taken as a percentage of your daily sales. If you use bank payouts, it’s deducted from your payouts. If you use Wix Checking, it’s deducted from your Wix Checking balance. You can see the deduction in your payout details or settlement report. Which Wix Payments sales are included in daily remittance? Wix Checki ng users: All online Wix Payments sales—including in-person POS payments and each recurring charge for subscriptions—are included in your daily remittance. Payouts through Wix Payments users: Wix Payments works with several payment providers behind the scenes, including Stripe, Adyen, and PayPal. However, for technical reasons, remittance is only taken from sales processed by Stripe-based payment methods. This may include transactions such as POS payments and recurring payments, as long as they are processed by Stripe. Why do I see different daily sales in the Cash Advance Activity table compared to my orders page and payments page? Remittance for a specific day is calculated based on the previous day’s gross Wix Payments sales, without considering refunds and chargebacks. You can view the related transactions in the details of each remittance amount by clicking View details in Settlement Report . Note: Remittance only applies to sales processed by Stripe-based payment methods (such as POS and recurring payments processed by Stripe). Sales processed by other providers, like Adyen or PayPal, are not included in remittance calculations. This article is credited to the Wix team - https://support.wix.com/ and we thank them for that! - Pricing Plans: Canceling Client Plans | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Business solutions & apps Pricing Plans: Canceling Client Plans Important: The article below discusses the Wix subscriptions app Pricing Plans. If you're looking for information about upgrading your site, visit our articles for choosing a Wix Premium or Wix Studio site plan. With Pricing Plans, you can cancel a client's plan or allow them to cancel on their own. Additionally, if you do not receive payment from your client's payment provider, their plan can become canceled. You can check the status of your clients' plans from the Subscriptions tab of your dashboard. Before you begin: Canceling a plan does not refund it. You must contact your payment provider to issue a refund. Failed payments automatically cancel a customer's plan . However, you can enable a grace period for your recurring subscriptions to give customers more time to resubmit payment before their subscription cancels. Canceling a client's plan yourself To cancel a client's plan yourself, you need to change the plan's status in your site's dashboard. You can choose when the cancellation happens – immediately, or at the end of the current payment cycle. When canceling free and one-time payment plans, it takes effect immediately. For example, if you cancel a monthly plan after 2 weeks use, the client does not have access to services/content for the last 2 weeks of the month. To cancel a client's plan: Go to Subscriptions in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant plan. Click Manage Subscription. Select Cancel Subscription . Select when the cancellation takes effect: Cancel at end of this billing period: Plan continues until end of current payment cycle (for example, until the end of the month for a monthly plan). The plan does not renew. Cancel immediately: Client's access to services stops immediately. Click Yes, Cancel . Important: Canceling a plan does not refund it. You must contact your payment provider to issue a refund. Tip: You can undo cancelations for plans with the "Pending cancelation" status. If you undo the cancelation, the status of the plan returns to "Active". Allowing clients to cancel plans You can allow clients to cancel a plan themselves through their private Members Area on your site. Before you begin: Make sure to add a Members Area to your site . Add a My Subscriptions page to your Member's Area. To allow clients to cancel a plan themselves: Go to Pricing Plans in your site's dashboard. Create a new plan or click to edit an existing one . Scroll down to Settings . Enable the Allow Plan Cancellation toggle. Click Save to save the plan. Repeat steps 3 - 5 for any other plans for which you want to enable cancellation. Plans canceled through payment providers Failed payments automatically cancel a customer's plan . This can happen when a credit card is canceled or has insufficient funds. Additionally, clients may cancel payment directly through their payment providers: PayPal: Clients may cancel recurring payments in their PayPal dashboard. Credit Card: Clients may cancel their plan directly with their credit card company. Viewing a plan's status If you or your client cancels a plan, their plan's status updates to show that it's canceled or pending cancelation in the Subscriptions tab in your dashboard. Plans can display any of the following statuses: Active: The plan can be used by the client. Expired: The plan has ended. Canceled: The plan was canceled and cannot be used by the client. Pending Cancelation: The plan can be used by the client until the end of the billing period they paid for and then will change to "Canceled" status. Note: You can undo cancellations for plans with the "Pending cancelation" status. If you undo the cancelation, the status of the plan returns to "Active". Free Trial: The recurring plan has a free trial and is in its free trial period. Pending: The plan has a future start date and is not yet active. Suspended: The plan has been temporarily suspended . FAQs Here are some frequently asked questions about canceling clients' plans: What happens if I delete a site member? Deleting a site member cancels their pricing plan automatically. What happens if I delete, transfer or duplicate my site? Deleting your site cancels all subscriptions. Transferring or duplicating your site doesn't cancel existing subscriptions on the original site. You must cancel original plans and create new ones for your clients to purchase on any duplicated and transferred sites. What happens after a client's plan is canceled? This depends on the type of plan that was canceled: Free / one-time payment: Access to services and content stops immediately. For example, if you cancel a monthly plan after 2 weeks, the client would not have access to services/content for the last 2 weeks of the month. Recurring: After a client cancels a recurring plan, the plan's status is changed to “pending cancellation” until the end of the billing period the client paid for. When you cancel a recurring payment, the purchased plan and payment does not continue for the next cycle. For example, if you cancel a monthly plan in the middle of January, the plan continues until the end of January, but does not recur in the following months. During January, in this example, the Plan Status will be "Pending Cancellation". Can I offer refunds for canceled plans? Note: Refunding a plan does not cancel it, you can cancel a plan in Subscriptions in your site dashboard. Contact your payment provider to offer refunds for canceled plans (e.g. PayPal, Stripe, etc.). Can I allow clients to cancel only specific plans? You can allow clients to cancel plans themselves in the settings section of each plan. This means you can allow clients to cancel some plans themselves, but not others, depending on your needs. Can I undo plan cancelations? After a client cancels a recurring plan, the plan's status is changed to “pending cancelation” until the end of the billing period the client paid for. You can undo cancelations for plans with the "Pending cancelation" status in Subscriptions in your site dashboard. If you undo the cancelation, the status of the plan returns to "Active". Use the preview box to make sure that the effect looks how you want. Designing the icon Tailor the icon to fit your design vision, your client's unique branding, and the particular button. Resize the icon, change its color and rotate it to make the button feel more dynamic. You can design the hover state of the button, giving you the opportunity to add an extra layer of interactivity – for example, make the icon rotate or shift colors on hover. To design the icon: Go to your editor . Click the relevant styled button. Click the Open Inspector icon at the top right of the editor. Select the relevant State under Design : Regular or Hover . Click Icon under Design . Use the available options to design the icon: Resize the icon. Change the icon color and adjust the opacity. Rotate the icon to a different angle. Custom icon requirements and guidelines Custom icons have some requirements. In order to upload and use your own files, they must be: Solid black (#000000) only In an SVG format No bigger than 250KB Note: If you have created your SVG files in Adobe Illustrator or Figma, they must be converted to a compound path before you export them. There are also some best practices to keep in mind when creating icons. We recommend following the below guidelines to ensure the smoothest animation possible. Make sure the start and end icons have the same starting position. Check that both icons have the same number of points. Use filled icons (without cut-outs). Use several smaller shapes to create an SVG icon, as opposed to 1 larger shape. Scale shapes when resizing them to maintain their quality. Use the program's pixel view to ensure alignment with pixels on the artboard. If your icons are very different shapes, you can try these tips for an even smoother transition: Use morphed versions of the icons (a start icon that has been slightly morphed into the end icon and vice versa). Hide shapes from one icon on the other (e.g. hiding shapes from the end icon on the start icon). Important: We cannot provide support or troubleshooting for SVG files you create outside of Wix.
