Consult a local tax authority to learn which of your customers qualify for a tax exemption. Providing individual customers with tax-exempt status You can manually grant tax-exempt status to any person in your site's contact list. Make sure the contact has an email address, as that address is what allows them to avoid paying tax at checkout. Important: To automatically receive tax-exempt status while checking out, the customer must enter the same email address. To provide a tax exemption: If not already added, add the customer as a site contact . Note: Make sure to add the contact's email address. Go to Tax in your site's dashboard. Scroll down and click Manage Exemptions . Click Add customer . Select the relevant customer. Click Save . Setting up tax exemptions for groups Instead of assigning tax exemptions to customers one by one, you can set up a tax exemption for an entire group and choose which tax types it applies to. Before you begin: Make sure to add the individuals that make up the group as site contacts . If you want to set up a tax exemption for a specific group of products, create that product group . To set up a tax exemption for a group: Go to Tax in your site's dashboard. Scroll down and click Manage Exemptions . Click Create group . Enter a name and click Next . Note: This name is for internal use. Select a region from the Select a region drop-down. Click Exempt next to the relevant tax type(s) and click Next . Select the customers you want to add to this exemption group. Click Save . What does my customer see at checkout? The tax exemption display varies depending on whether you include tax in product prices or add it at checkout . When you include tax in product prices, customers see the amount that was subtracted. If tax is not included in the price, a notification appears stating that the customer is exempt from tax. FAQs Click below for answers to common questions about providing tax exemptions. How can various employees of the same company receive tax-exempt status? The tax-exempt status is connected to the buyer's email address, not the company name. To allow multiple employees to make company purchases without paying tax, add each employee as a contact and assign a tax exemption to each one. Can my customer add their VAT ID at checkout? Yes. You can use the Exemptify app by daxanema to let customers enter their VAT ID at checkout and automatically get tax-exempt status. You can also use the VAT ID to apply tax exemptions for eligible customers, for example after validating it through the European VAT Information Exchange System ( VIES ). Notes: To add the app, click Exemptify by daxanema . The app is not yet available in the Wix Harmony Editor. Alternatively, you can add a custom field to the Checkout page, which can be used to collect the customer's tax ID. Note that the number will not be validated. Can I provide a customer with a partial tax exemption? Currently, you can only provide full tax exemptions. Are there any cases where the tax exemption cannot be applied? When a customer completes payment using a provider where checkout happens outside of Wix (e.g. PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay), it's not possible to provide a tax exemption. To work around this, set up additional payment providers in Wix and instruct your customers to use them at checkout. What happens if my customer's phone details don't match those in Wix Contacts? If there is a mismatch between a customer's country code / phone number listed in the saved contact card and the ones entered at checkout, the exemption won't apply. This could happen if your customer selects the wrong country code at checkout or enters an incorrect phone number. This could also occur if the details in the contact card are inaccurate. To fix this problem, you can either edit the contact in Wix Contacts or ask your customers to select the correct country code and enter the right phone number when they complete a purchase. Can a tax exemption be applied at a point of sale? After giving a customer tax-exempt status, they automatically get a tax exemption when purchasing items in the POS Register . Tax exemptions are not available with other POS solutions. Previous Next Need An AI Run Website? Contact Us Today! Submit

  • Using an Authenticator App for 2-Step Verification for your Wix Account | Wix Expert

< Back Managing your account Changing your account settings Using an Authenticator App for 2-Step Verification for your Wix Account Add an extra layer of security to your login with an authenticator app for 2-step verification . This helps keep your account safe, even if someone else gets your password. You can use an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator , Microsoft Authenticator , or Authy to verify your identity every time you log in from an unrecognized device. Before you begin: We recommend that you set up your Recovery Phone Number before enabling 2-Step verification. How authenticator apps work Authenticator apps generate a code that you can use in addition to your email and password to verify your identity. This code automatically regenerates at a set amount of time (e.g. every 30 seconds). The advantage of using an authenticator app instead of SMS or email verification is that it doesn't require an internet or mobile network connection. Using an authenticator app is also safer than SMS or email because the code is generated on your device instead of being sent to you. Some examples of popular authenticator apps are: Google Authenticator ( Android / iOS ) Microsoft Authenticator ( Android / iOS ) Twilio Authy ( Android / iOS ) Duo Mobile ( Android / iOS ) LastPass Authenticator ( Android / iOS ) After you download and install an authenticator app to your mobile device, you can connect the app to your Wix account . The next time you try to sign in to your Wix account, you'll be asked to enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Enabling 2-step verification with an authenticator app You can enable 2-step authentication with an authenticator app in your Account Settings. Note: You can enable more than one verification option at the same time . If you choose to enable multiple options, the default prompt order is always: Wix mobile app first, then an authenticator app, followed by SMS, and then email. To enable an authenticator app: Go to Account Settings in your Wix account. Scroll down to 2-Step verification . C lick Enable next to Verify logins with an authenticator app . Enter your Wix password in the pop-up. Open your authenticator app. Scan the QR code displayed in your browser with your authenticator app, or enter the code. Follow any additional steps in your authenticator app to add your Wix account to it. Click Next on the pop-up in your browser. Enter the 6-digit code that's shown in your authenticator app. Click Submit . Important: If you remove your account from your authentication app, or delete the app from your mobile device, you won't be able to sign in using this method. Signing in to your Wix account using an authenticator app When you sign in to your Wix account with 2-Step verification enabled, you need to confirm your login by adding a 6-digit code from your authenticator app. To sign-in with 2-step verification: Sign in as normal on the Wix login page . Open your authenticator app on your phone. Get the 6-digit code for your Wix account. Enter the 6-digit code under Enter code here on the Wix login page. Click Verify . • Wix Bookings: Creating an Online Service | Wix Expert

< Back Managing your business Business solutions & apps Wix Bookings: Creating an Online Service Offer services online so clients can book and attend sessions from anywhere. After choosing a video platform, you can create your service, connect a payment method, and share clear joining instructions with clients. Important: To use video conferencing, you need to upgrade your site to a plan that supports payments . Step 1 | Select a platform to host your virtual service Choose a platform based on the type of session you offer. Some services work best with 1-to-1 video calls, while others need tools for larger groups or live streaming. Platforms for appointments For 1-to-1 services such as consultations and coaching sessions, use a video conferencing platform such as Zoom or Google Meet that lets you meet with clients directly. Some platforms also let you share your screen, which can be helpful for presentations, slides, or documents. Platforms for class and course sessions For group sessions, choose a platform based on how you want participants to join: Let clients watch you live: Use a live streaming platform, such as Wix Video's live streaming , if participants only need to see and hear you. Interact with multiple participants: Use a group meeting platform if you want participants to join the conversation, ask questions, or unmute during the session (e.g. Google Meet , Zoom , Cisco Webex , or GoToMeeting ). Notes: The benefits, call hours and participant limits for video conferencing are based on the provider you use (Google Meet, Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.) and are not controlled by Wix. Learn more about setting up and managing multiple video conferencing links You may want to use the Wix File Share app to share course material and let students upload their work for your online services. Step 2 | Create the service in Wix Bookings Once you've decided what type of online session you want to offer, create the service in your Wix Bookings dashboard so clients can book it. Choose from appointments , classes , or courses . To make it clear that the service takes place online, consider adding ‘online’ to the service name or subtitle, for example, "Online Yoga Class". In the Locations tab, select a custom location and enter a description such as "Online". Then, enable the toggle next to Video conferencing and continue with your service setup. Note: If it's your first time adding video conferencing to a service, click Add next to Video conferencing . Then, choose between Google Meet, Zoom, or Custom link . Step 3 | Connect an online payment method If you want to charge clients when they book, make sure your site has an online payment method connected. This lets you collect payment in advance instead of asking clients to pay in person. You can set this up from the Accept Payments section of your site's dashboard by choosing the payment method you want to connect: A virtual wallet or credit card: Connect a provider such as Wix Payments , PayPal, or Square so clients can pay online when they book. Manual Payment : Let clients pay outside Wix using a method you choose, such as a bank transfer, cheque, or payment app. You can add instructions so clients know how to complete the payment. Step 4 | Let clients know how to connect to your service Clients need clear instructions on how to join your online service. If you add a video conferencing link while setting up the service, Wix automatically includes it in the confirmation email sent after booking. You can also customize the email to add any extra details clients need before the session starts. To customize the confirmation email: Go to Booking Settings in your site's dashboard. Click Notifications you send . Click the Emails tab. Click Edit next to Send clients an email confirmation when they book . In the automation builder, click the Send an email action. In the side panel, click Edit next to Email template . Customize the email as needed (e.g. add text elements for additional instructions, customize the design, change themes, etc) (Optional) Click Preview and test to send yourself a preview of the email. Click Publish changes when you're ready. Important: Under Join online , you'll find dynamic fields that are automatically filled in when you add a video conferencing link while setting up your service. If you edit these fields manually, the link stops working. We recommend leaving the existing personalized content unchanged (e.g. ${online_conference_url}). Tips: For more ways to manage booking emails, learn more about managing your outbound client emails . For more details about editing email content and design, learn more about customizing automated emails . FAQs Click a question below to learn more about creating an online service. What is the difference between Google Meet, Zoom, and a custom link? A Google Meet or Zoom connection creates a unique meeting link for each booking. A Custom link uses the same fixed URL for every booking. Can I disable the confirmation email? Yes. You can disable the confirmation email in the Notifications you send section under Booking settings . To do this, disable the Send clients an email confirmation when they book toggle. Do clients automatically receive the video conferencing link? Yes. If you add a video conferencing link while setting up the service, Wix automatically includes it in the confirmation email sent to clients after they book. Previous Next Need An AI Run Website? What is a dynamic page? Dynamic pages are used to display content from a CMS (Content Management System) collection. They allow you to create websites that can efficiently handle a large amount of content while maintaining a consistent design and user experience. There are two types of dynamic pages in Wix; dynamic list pages, and dynamic item pages. Dynamic list pages display multiple collection items in a repeater, gallery or table. The items in your repeater, gallery, or table link to a single dynamic item page that provides more details about a particular item. Each item gets its own "version" of the same dynamic item page with a unique URL ending. Learn more about working with dynamic pages in Wix . How are the URLs for my dynamic item pages created? By default, the URLs of your dynamic item pages end with the collection name, followed by the primary field in the collection (for example, /properties/luxury-villa-with-a-view ). You can view the URLs for each item, as well as for your dynamic list pages in the Page Link field type of your collection. Go to the SEO tab of your page settings to add variables to the URL slug of your dynamic pages. What are dynamic URLs? Dynamic URLs are webpage addresses that change based on the page's connected collection. Each item in your collection needs a unique dynamic page URL for the dynamic page to exist. This is why you may need to add fields to the URL to give each item in your collection its own unique URL. Learn more about creating unique dynamic page URLs . What is a dataset? Datasets are the vital link between the elements on your page and the content in your CMS collection. You can use datasets to create a two-way connection, allowing you to display collection content, capture user inputs, or both. Datasets allow you to control which parts of your page elements connect to which fields in your collection. Each dataset connects to a collection and each element connected to the dataset connects to a field in the collection. This unlocks a new way of managing which content appears and where. Learn more about adding and setting up a dataset . Can I create a dynamic link that visitors click to send emails? Yes. You can create dynamic links that open the visitor's mail client so they can send an email to the relevant address. To create dynamic links that open the visitor's mail client: Create a URL field type in your collection for storing the email addresses. Add the email addresses to the field with mailto: at the beginning of each address (e.g. mailto:support@email.com ). Link a button or image to a dataset that connects to this URL field. When visitors click the link, their email client opens with the relevant address in the 'To:' field. Learn more about linking buttons to CMS collection fields in datasets .
