Two-step cancellation process The cancellation button should open a dedicated cancellation request form where customers can specify which order or contract they want to cancel. The form should collect enough information to identify the order, such as: Customer name Email address Order number Order date (if applicable) After completing the form, customers should confirm their request with a final action, for example, by clicking a Submit cancellation request button. This completes the cancellation request. No login required Customers should be able to submit a cancellation request without creating an account or logging in. Guest customers must have the same ability to submit a cancellation request electronically as registered customers. Immediate electronic confirmation After submitting a cancellation request, customers should immediately receive an electronic confirmation that their request was received. Make sure your chosen solution provides this confirmation where required by local law. High visibility and accessibility Make sure the cancellation button is clearly visible and easy to find throughout the cancellation period. Do not place it somewhere customers need to click through multiple pages, account areas, or complex menus to access it. After a guest selects an available time slot and submits a reservation request if manual approval is enabled, they must enter their credit card details When is a guest charged for their reservation request? Guests are charged at different times depending on whether the reservation is automatically or manually approved: Automatic approval: Guests pay the required prepayment amount right at checkout to confirm the reservation. Manual approval: Guests are told during the request process that their card will only be charged if the host approves the request. Once the request is approved and payment is collected, the guest receives a confirmation email with all the reservation details. How do I refund my customers? Go to Orders in your site's dashboard. Click the relevant order. Click More Actions at the top right. Select Refund . Select the checkboxes next to items you want to refund. Select the Send a confirmation email to customer checkbox and enter a personal note to your customer. Note: Customers may also receive a notification from the payment provider. Click Refund . Click Issue Refund . Note: This cannot be undone. Can I save a guest's card instead of charging a prepayment? Yes. A credit card hold saves a guest's card details without charging them, and only charges a fee if they cancel late or don't show up. It's a good fit if you want to reduce no shows without asking guests to pay upfront. Set up payment protection to compare the two methods or switch between them. Need to delete a Wix app collection? If you want to remove a Wix app collection, you must delete the relevant Wix app from your site. For example, you must remove Wix Stores from your site if you want to delete the 'Stores' app collections. You can delete Wix form collections that were created by the old version of Wix Forms. It is not possible to delete Wix form collections created by the new version of Wix Forms. How do Wix app collections work? Wix app collections store information about the items in your Wix app. For instance, if you have Wix Stores on your site, the 'Products' collection includes details about the products you sell. The fields (columns) in the collection provide information for each item (row), such as the item's name, price, image, and product options. To edit the content in your Wix app collections, go to the relevant Wix app, such as Wix Stores or Wix Events, and make your changes there. Any adjustments you make within the Wix apps are automatically reflected in the Wix app collections. Wix app collection fields Your Wix app collection fields get their data from the relevant apps (e.g. Stores, Bookings, Events). In these collections, you can view the field names , types , IDs and content. Each app has its own unique capabilities. For example, some apps like Pricing Plans do not allow you to use their fields in user input elements that are set to filter content. What does each Wix app collection field represent? Go to our Wix Developers documentation to view more info about specific Wix app collections. You can click the relevant app in the side bar to view details about each of its fields. Wix app collection permissions Wix app collections have fixed and varying collection permissions that cannot be modified. The permissions define how the collection content can be accessed by people with different roles. You can only view these permissions, which determine who can read, add, update, or delete content. Each collection permission is tied to specific user roles, allowing you to see the access levels assigned to different people. Examples: 'Members - PrivateMembersData' collection: Site members can only view items they created themselves. No one can add, update, or delete the collection content from the live site. You can display 'PrivateMembersData' collection content by connecting its fields to elements on your page , ensuring each member sees only their own items. Visitors cannot update the content of your collection using input elements. 'Stores - Products' collection: Any site visitor can read the collection content on your live site. However, no one can add, update, or delete the content from the live site. You can display all of your 'Stores' collection content by connecting the fields to elements on your page. Visitors are not able to update the content of your collection using input elements. Remember, you cannot edit permissions for Wix app collections like Wix Stores or Wix Bookings. You can view these collections in your CMS, but any modifications must be made within the corresponding apps. Click Publish if you are ready to make the changes go live. FAQs Click below for answers to common questions about connecting images to CMS collections. What should I use for the image alt text? In general, we recommend creating a collection field to use as the alt text for CMS-connected images. To keep your collection organized, you can place the alt text field next to the image it represents and name it "Alt text [image name]". You can leave the alt text disconnected for decorative images as they do not typically need alt text. Learn more about CMS accessibility best practices . Can I use an image as the 'Submit' button on my custom CMS form? Yes, you can use either an image or a button element as your CMS form's 'Submit' button. Any input elements you add as part of a custom CMS form, need to have a 'Submit' button. When clicked, the values in each input save to your connected collection. To use an image as your 'Submit' button: Add an image in your editor. Connect the image to the same dataset that connects to the input elements visitors will submit. Click the Click action connects to drop-down and select Submit . Tip: You can connect images to other dataset click actions to use them as 'buttons' for actions like 'Load More', 'Next/Previous Page', etc. Learn more about creating a 'Submit' button for your custom CMS form . Can I add a tooltip to an image that appears when visitors hover over the image? We have removed the option to add tooltips to image elements as tooltips are not accessible to all users. It is no longer possible to set tooltips for static images or images that connect to the CMS. Instead, use the alt text field to explain images in a way that screen readers can understand them. Learn more about CMS alt text best practices . Can I display images or videos from the CMS in section backgrounds? Yes. You can connect section backgrounds to 'Image' or 'Video' fields in your CMS collection. You can also connect the background color to 'Color' fields if you want to display a color from your collection. If the section background is for decorative purposes only, we recommend leaving the alt text disconnected in the dataset. This helps screen readers skip over the image, preventing unnecessary distractions. For non-decorative background images, connect the alt text to a collection field that explains what the background image or video shows. Learn more about CMS accessibility best practices . To connect a section background: In your editor, click the relevant section, then click the Connect to CMS icon . Click the Choose a dataset drop-down and select an existing dataset that connects to your collection. Alternatively, select Add a Dataset , then choose the collection you want to connect, give it a name and click Create . Click the Background alt text connects to drop-down and select the field you want to use as the alt text. Click the Section background color connects to drop-down to connect the background color to a 'Color' field . What is a dataset? Datasets are the vital link between the elements on your page and the content in your CMS collection. You can use datasets to create a two-way connection, allowing you to display collection content, capture user inputs, or both. Datasets allow you to control which parts of your page elements connect to which fields in your collection. Each dataset connects to a collection and each element connected to the dataset connects to a field in the collection. This unlocks a new way of managing which content appears and where. Learn more about adding and setting up a dataset . Can I connect multiple images to the same dataset? Yes, you can connect multiple images to the same dataset. The dataset only connects to one collection. However, you can connect each part of the images to different collection fields to use different content from the same collection. - Wix POS Register: Connecting a Network Card Reader | Wix Expert
< Back Managing your business Accepting payments on your site Wix POS Register: Connecting a Network Card Reader Important: This article is about the Wix POS Register for brick and mortar businesses. Learn more about Wix Mobile POS , or learn more about our Desktop POS solution . The Desktop Card Reader is not currently for sale. If you already own this card reader, you can still follow the instructions below to pair it with your POS tablet. Before you can collect payment from customers by credit card, debit card, or phone app, you need to connect a card reader to your POS tablet. This article will walk you through how to connect a network card reader, which is a reader that connects to your POS tablet via a WiFi connection. The Wix POS Go card reader supports all magstripe and EMV payment functions and you can use it to accept new forms of payment, such as Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, VISA payWave, Mastercard Contactless, AMEX ExpressPay and Discover D-PAS. Tip: You can also use a Bluetooth card reader with your POS tablet, such as the Stripe M2 card reader (US) or the WisePad 3 Card Reader (Canada and UK). Step 1 | Get the card reader You can purchase your Wix POS Go card reader from the Wix POS shop . Step 2 | Unbox and charge your card reader Once you have the card reader, unbox it and charge it so it'll be ready to set up. To prepare your reader: Unbox your card reader. Insert the battery. Press the power button to turn the reader on. If required, charge your reader. Tip: Plug the reader into a wall outlet, not directly into the tablet. Step 3 | Connect the reader to WiFi Important: If the reader and tablet are connected to different WiFi networks, you won't be able to use the reader. Now you can connect your card reader to the same WiFi network you're using for your POS tablet. To check which network your tablet is connected to, click the Menu icon on the tablet, select App & Tablet and click Wi-Fi & Network . Choose an option below based on what you see on your card reader's screen: I see WiFi networks displayed on the reader's screen Tap to connect to the same WiFi network that your tablet is connected to. I don't see WiFi networks displayed on the reader's screen Swipe right on your card reader screen. Tap the Settings button. Enter 07139 as the PIN code. Select Network . Connect to the same WiFi network that your tablet is connected to. Step 4 | Pair the card reader to your POS tablet When connecting to WiFi, a three-word code should automatically appear on the card reader screen. If not, you can generate the code. Once you have it, enter it in your POS tablet. After your reader is paired, you'll see it in your list of available card readers in the Manage Hardware tab in the tablet. Choose an option below based on what you see on your card reader's screen: I see a code displayed on the reader's screen (On your POS tablet) Tap the Menu icon at the bottom left. Tap Manage Hardware . Select Set up Card Reader . Tap Connect next to Network reader . Tap +Pair a New Network Reader . Enter the three-word code you see on the reader. (Optional) Give your card reader a name. T ip: If you plan on using more than one reader, this will help you manage them. Click Pair Reader . I don't see a code displayed on the reader's screen (On your Wix POS Go) Generate a code: Swipe right on your card reader screen. Tap the Settings button. Select Generate pairing code . Enter the three-word code in the pop-up, including the hyphens. (On your POS tablet) Tap the Menu icon at the bottom left. Tap Manage Hardware . Select Set up Card Reader . Tap Connect next to Network reader . Tap +Pair a New Network Reader . Enter the three-word code you see on the reader. (Optional) Give your card reader a name. Tip : If you plan on using more than one reader, this will help you manage them. Click Pair Reader . Troubleshooting your network card reader If you are experiencing any issues setting up a card reader, click a question below. Why can't I pair the card reader to my tablet? Any of the following will prevent you from pairing with your tablet: Card reader is turned off: Turn on the card reader. Card reader battery has no charge: Charge the card reader. The reader is connected to another WiFi network: To connect, both your tablet and your reader need to be connected to the same WiFi network. Check which network each of them is connected to and make any necessary changes. My reader is paired, but not connected. Why? Pairing the reader means that your tablet recognizes it and adds it to your list of available card readers in the Manage Hardware tab in the tablet. When a reader is paired, it automatically connects. The reader can, however, become disconnected for a number of reasons. For example, if your card reader is very low on charge, has no charge at all, or is turned off, it will be offline. Once the card reader is turned on and has enough charge, it will reconnect on its own. What happens to my reader when the charge is low? If the charge is too low, the reader will shut down. You may not get a clear indication before this occurs. Note: After plugging in the reader to charge, it won't be ready for immediate use. You may initially be able to turn it on but not access the start screen with the Wix logo. What can I do if the card reader is frozen? Hold down the power button for 6 seconds to restart. I have paired more than one reader. How can I switch between them? If you have paired more than one reader, you'll see them listed in the Manage Hardware tab in the tablet. Tip: The Bluetooth readers and WiFi readers are listed separately. To switch to a different card reader: (On your POS tablet) Tap the Menu icon at the bottom left. Tap Manage Hardware . Tap Manage Card Reader . Select the reader you want to disconnect. Tap Disconnect in the top right corner. Tap Disconnect to confirm. Tap Connect next to the reader you want to connect. How can I remove a reader from my list of readers? When you remove (unpair) a reader, it no longer appears in your list of network readers. Tip: If you plan on using this reader in the future, we recommend that you disconnect it instead of removing it. You can disconnect a reader by simply turning it off. To remove a reader: Tap the Menu icon at the bottom left. Tap Manage Hardware . Select Network reader . Swipe left next to the reader you want to remove. Tap Remove . Tap Remove to confirm.
