Wix Studio: Letting Clients Pay for Site Upgrades via a Payment Request
Allow your client to pay directly for their new site upgrade by using payment requests. Once you send a request, your client can review the Premium or Studio plan and upgrade the site themselves. All future billing for the site, including plan renewals, can be managed by your client.
You can create payment requests for sites built using the Studio Editor or the Wix Editor.
Before you begin:
To use this feature, you must be a Wix Partner. Learn more about joining the Wix Partner Program.

FAQs
Click a question below to learn more about payment requests.
Who can create a payment request?
Only the site owner, or collaborators with Billing permissions for the site can create a payment request.
Once they upgrade the site, what permissions will my client have?
Once a client upgrades a site via a payment request, they are added as a Billing Manager of that site. This means they can make purchases, apply domain vouchers, manage subscriptions, add payment methods and connect a domain to the site. Learn more about roles and permissions.
How long does my client have to accept the payment request?
Typically, your client will have 30 days to accept or refuse the payment request. After the timeframe, you'll need to send a new request if you wish them to upgrade the site.
Will Wix.com appear on my client's bank statement as the payee of the upgrade amount?
Yes. The payment is made directly to Wix. As such, your client is billed by Wix for this payment and future payments, such as plan renewals.
Is the price I'm viewing when I send the request the same price as my client is paying for the upgrade?
Your client may see a different price if they upgrade during sale times. Depending on their location, they may also see a different price because of local currency and taxes.
I'm in the Wix Partner program. Do I still earn revenue share if I send a payment request?
Yes. The allocation of revenue share is unaffected by the site upgrade via a payment request. The partner who sends the request earns the requisite partner benefits.
Can I send a payment request for a site that has already been upgraded?
No. Payment requests can only be created for the initial upgrade to Premium. Requests for renewals and 2nd upgrades are not supported.
Can I edit a payment request after I've sent it?
No. Payment requests cannot be edited once they've been sent.
Can I cancel a payment request after I've sent it?
If you need to cancel a payment request, contact Wix Customer Care. Our experts can revoke the payment link in the payment request, and your client will not be able to upgrade via that link.
If your client has already purchased a Premium plan via a payment request, and if they wish to cancel that plan, they'll need to do it themselves.
