Wix FAQ App: Working with Categories in the Wix FAQ App
The Wix FAQ app helps you build professional and visually appealing FAQ sections for your site. Use categories to organize your questions by topic, making it faster and easier for visitors to find the answers they need.
Creating a new category
With clearly defined categories, you can keep your FAQ page organized and make your site feel professional and easy to use.
To create a new category:
Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app.
Click the Add New drop-down and select Category.
Enter your category name in the Add category field. Note: There is a 50 character limit.
Click Save.
Tip:
You can also create a new category when you create a new question.
Deleting a category
Outdated categories can clutter your FAQ section. Keep things optimized by removing categories you no longer need.
To delete a category:
Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app.
Click the More actions icon
next to the category you want to delete.
Click Delete.
Click Delete on the pop-up.
Note:
You must always have at least one category in your FAQ. If you have only one category, you won't be able to delete it.
Moving a question to different category
When you create a new question, you need to assign it to a category to publish it. You can move it to a different category at any time.
To move a question to a different category:
Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app.
Click the drop-down next to the relevant category.
Click the More actions icon
next to the question you want to move.
Click Move to category.
Select a new category for the question.
Click Move.
Tip:
You can also drag and drop questions and place them in other categories.

Can I rename a category?
Yes. You can rename a category at any time.
To rename a category:
Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app.
Click the Rename icon
next to the relevant category.
Enter the new category name in the field provided.
Click Save.
Can I create subcategories within a category?
No. The Wix FAQ app does not currently support subcategories. You can create multiple main categories instead to organize your content.
Can I delete a category with questions in it?
Yes. You can delete a category that has questions in it. When you delete a category that has questions in it, all the questions are deleted too.
Note: The FAQ app requires at least one category to function, so you cannot delete the last remaining category.
Can I reorder categories and questions within a category?
Yes. You can reorder categories and questions by dragging the category or question up or down depending on your needs.
Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app.
Choose what you want to do:
Reorder a category:
Hover over the relevant category and click to drag it up or down.
Reorder a question:
Hover over the relvant category and click the drop-down to show the questions within it.
Hover over the relevant question and click to drag it up or down.
