Wix Blog: Working with Drafts and Scheduling Posts

Not ready to push publish? No problem. The Save to Draft feature allows you to develop your content securely without publishing right away. When you’re ready, you can publish your draft or schedule your post to go live at a specific time.

These tools help you manage your blog more efficiently, as they allow you to polish your content over time, while also maintaining a consistent posting schedule.

Note:

We recommend that you keep your draft content on one browser tab when working on your computer. Writing across multiple tabs can lead to multiple versions of your draft and content being overwritten.

FAQs

Click a question below to learn more about working with drafts and scheduling blog posts.

No. Draft posts are only visible to you, they do not appear to your site visitors. This includes any edits you make to a post, which are not visible until you publish your changes.

Scheduled posts appear in the Scheduled tab until they are published. You can cancel a scheduled post or set it to be published at another time from here.

Yes, you can edit a post after you schedule it. Open the scheduled post from your dashboard or the Wix app, make your changes, and save or update as needed. Any edits you make are included when the post is published.

No. You do not receive a notification when a scheduled post is published. You can check your live blog to see how it looks once it is published.

Reverting a published post to draft and republishing it creates a brand new post. You lose all the views, likes, and comments from the original post, and these can't be recovered. To keep them, edit the post in the post composer instead of reverting it to draft.

Important: This can't be undone. Once you revert a post to draft and republish it, all views, likes, and comments from the original post are lost permanently.
