Troubleshooting
Use this section if your blog post doesn't look or publish the way you expect. Find your issue below and follow the fix.
Gaps appear in my post on mobile but not on desktop
Extra spacing that shows on mobile but not on desktop usually has one of two causes.
An image or table sits next to an empty paragraph:
You aligned an image or table to the left or right and left a blank paragraph beside it. It looks correct in the post composer and on desktop. On mobile, the blank paragraph drops below the image and leaves a gap.
Fix:
Open the post in the post composer.
Click the image with the alignment issue.
Change the alignment to Center, or click into the empty space next to the image and delete the blank paragraph.
Click Publish to apply the changes to your live site.
Content was pasted from an external source:
You pasted content from an external tool (e.g. Microsoft Word or Notepad) into the post composer. Hidden formatting can carry over and cause extra spacing.
Fix:
Copy your content from the external source as usual.
Paste it without formatting:
PC: Ctrl + Shift + V
Mac: Shift + Command + V
Reapply any formatting (e.g. bold, headings) directly in the post composer.
Click Publish to apply the changes to your live site.
The Publish button is greyed out
The Publish button stays greyed out until your post meets a few requirements. Check the causes below:
Your post has no title:
Every post needs a title before you can publish it. If the title field looks empty, the title color may match the background (e.g. white text on a white background), which makes it invisible.
Fix:
Go to your editor.
Click the Post page.
Click the Post widget.
Click the Settings tab.
Click Design, then click Text style and color.
Update the title text color.
Your post has no content:
Your post body needs some text or media before you can publish.
Fix: Add text or media to the post body, then publish.
A corrupt element is in the post:
A recently added element can block publishing.
Fix: Remove your recent elements one at a time to find the one causing the issue, then add your content back.
My post shows "X days ago" instead of a date
This is expected behavior, not an error. For the first 7 days after publishing, the date shows as a relative time (e.g. "3 days ago"). After 7 days, it switches to a standard date (e.g. "14 July").
Fix: No action is needed. The date updates on its own after 7 days.
The background color looks wrong on the live site
Your live background color comes from the Post page design settings in your editor, not the post composer. Learn more about customizing your blog post page.
Fix:
Go to your editor.
Click the Post page.
Click the Post widget.
Click the Settings tab.
Click Design, then click Background and buttons.
Adjust the background color or opacity as needed.
Click Publish to update your live site.
