By default, the following payment methods are available at checkout: You can disable any payment methods you don't use to simplify the checkout process. Disabling payment methods You can set which payment options are displayed at checkout from the Payments tab. To disable a payment option: Open the POS tablet. Tap the Menu icon at the bottom left. Tap the Settings tab. Tap the Payment tab. Tap the toggle next to any payment methods to disable them. FAQs How can I enable a payment method I disabled? Follow the same instructions you used to disable the payment method, but click the toggles to enable them. What is the "Other" payment method? The "Other" payment method allows you to receive payment through a method which is not integrated with your POS system. For example, you can use it to accept payment through an app or a gift card which isn't integrated with the POS system. Which gift cards can I accept with the Gift Card method Currently, it's possible to accept payment through Wix Gift Cards and cards created through the Gifted app. Learn more about accepting payment through gift cards . Note: You can, however, use the "Other" payment method to accept payment through a gift card which isn't integrated with the POS system. Why can't I enable the "other" payment method? Retail POS is available only in the US and Canada. To start selling using your Retail POS, upgrade to a Retail POS plan. Upgrading lets you take advantage of the complete range of features and options. Retail POS plan benefits Upgrade to accept multiple types of payments and manage your business with advanced tools. Accept all types of payments To accept payment by credit/debit card, gift card, or manual card entry, you need to upgrade to Retail POS plan. Tip: Before upgrading, you'll be able to accept cash payment. Add staff members Upgrade to add more staff members to your team. Each team member can set their own passcode to log in to the POS tablet. Note: The maximum number of staff members is determined by your site upgrade (see the FAQ below for more details). Allow customers to exchange items Allow customers to bring a store product back and exchange it for a different one. Track staff member hours Stay on top of your business by tracking your staff members' hours. View the hours each staff member puts in during a time period or select a staff member to view additional tracking details. Redeem loyalty points If you created a loyalty program , customers could earn and redeem loyalty points in your online store. Wix offers a variety of Premium plan or Studio plan upgrades, each of which allows a different number of site collaborators. Customers can either tap a credit/debit card directly on your phone or use their own phones to pay you. Requirements: Tap to Pay is currently available only in the US. iPhone: The 15.5 operating system or higher The iPhone XR model or later Android: Android 11 or later Step 1 | Download the Wix app To start accepting payments from your mobile device, download the Wix app. To download the Wix app: Go to the Apple App Store (on iPhone) or Google Play (on Android). Type 'Wix app' in the search field. Click Get or Install to download the app. You can also download the Wix app right to your phone using these links: iPhone Android Step 2 | Create a Wix Payments account If you don't already have one, start by creating and verifying a Wix Payments account . Step 3 | Set up Tap to Pay After your Wix Payments account is verified, you can set up Tap to Pay in your site's dashboard and in your phone. To set up Tap to Pay: Enable Tap to Pay in the dashboard:Go to Accept Payments in your site's dashboard. Click Accept or click the toggle next to Tap to Pay to enable it. NFC is a protocol found in Android phones which makes it possible to tap your phone to pay and receive payment. Without this setting enabled, tap to pay won't work. To locate the setting in you device, go to Settings and search for NFC. Each type of phone is a little different, but you should be able to find and enable it. What are the processing fees for Tap to Pay? The processing fees are 2.6% of the transaction amount plus 20 cents. After setup, how can I accept payment? I have a card reader and also have tap to pay set up on my phone. Can I use both? Yes, but not at the same time. If you're using one option and want to switch to the other, you need to unpair the active one and then pair the option you want to use. To switch card readers: Go to your site in the Wix app . Tap Manage at the bottom. Tap Point of Sale under Getting Paid . Tap the Connect icon at the top right. Tap Unpair to disconnect the card reader or tap to pay option. Select and connect the relevant option. Does a customer need the same type of phone as I have so they can pay? A mobile POS can help you accept cash payments on the go. For example, if you have an online store but also sell at fairs and exhibitions. Alternatively, you can use it to accept in-person payments at your salon, gym, or event venue. Charge for products and services offered on your site If you use any of the following, you can use a mobile POS to accept payment for your products and services: Wix Stores: Let customers purchase store products in person. Your inventory adjusts after every sale. Wix Bookings: Accept payment for your services. Clients can book through your site and pay at the point of sale. Alternatively, you can book for them and accept payment all at once. Wix Restaurants: Accept restaurant orders and automatically send the order to the dashboard. Gift Cards: Sell physical gift cards at your point of sale. Customers can later use them to purchase store products or Wix Bookings services. Wix Events: Sell event tickets at your event, or collect payment in person from guests who booked tickets online. Pricing Plans: Sell clients your membership plans and packages in person. Invoices: Accept payments for invoices . Notes: You can sell store or restaurant items, bookings services, or gift cards in the same order. Some options mentioned below are not yet available with Wix Events and Pricing Plans. Charge custom amounts You can also use a mobile POS to accept any sort of payment. For example, if you offer counseling services that aren't booked through your site, you can simply enter the amount the client has to pay and then accept payment from your client. Alternatively, you can add a custom charge to an order along with store or restaurant items or bookings services. Accepting payments There are 4 ways you can accept payment at a POS. Accepting cash payment only: If you intend to only accept cash payments, you can do so without purchasing any additional equipment. Just download the Wix app and start accepting cash payment . Accepting payment using a card reader: Order a card reader to accept credit or debit card payment. Customers can tap, swipe, or insert their card to pay.
